📚🌏 From February 2 (Mon) to 6 (Fri), the ATLAS Project hosted the Capacity Building Programs – FY2025, welcoming two participants for hands-on physician training: Thanachai SANLUNG (Khon Kaen University, Thailand) and Tran Cao Hong An (Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital, Vietnam).
🏥 During the program, they visited the Phase I unit at NCCH and gained practical insights into early-phase clinical trial operations and hospital-based research workflows.
🤝 The week also included valuable discussions with teams across CRC, Pharmacy, Laboratory departments, and ARO staff—creating a shared space to exchange perspectives and strengthen collaboration across the region.
🧪 We are grateful for their active participation and look forward to continuing to build capacity together for high-quality clinical research in Asia.

📚🌏 2月2日（月）〜6日（金）、ATLAS主催の Capacity Building Programs – FY2025 を実施し、Thanachai SANLUNG先生（Khon Kaen University／タイ）、Tran Cao Hong An先生（Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital／ベトナム）にご参加いただき、医師向け研修を行いました。
🏥 研修では、NCCHのPhase I施設見学をはじめ、臨床研究の現場での運用や体制について理解を深めていただきました。

🌏 Through the ATLAS Project, led by National Cancer Center, Japan (NCC), we are strengthening a trusted platform for international cancer clinical trials in Asia. 🧪 We work with hospitals, investigators, regulators, and industry partners to support high-quality studies and share learning across borders. 🧬 By promoting genomic medicine and more harmonised trial operations, we aim to generate evidence faster and improve access to new treatments for patients in the region.
🤝 On World Cancer Day, we reaffirm our commitment to people-centred research—listening to patients and caregivers, and designing studies that fit local realities. Across our network, we support investigator-initiated trials and data-driven programmes that help connect more patients to research opportunities. 💛 Thank you to everyone who contributes to ATLAS, and please stay connected as we work together to deliver better options for every unique story.

From January 19 (Monday) to January 31 (Friday), ATLAS-hosted Capacity Building Programs (FY2025) welcomed Ms. Nur Adilah Binti Abdul Aziz (Hospital Pulau Pinang, Malaysia) and Ms. Yu-Chi Chang (Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital, Taiwan) for CRC training.

During the program, they toured various facilities within the hospital and engaged in fruitful discussions with CRC staff, the Pharmacy Department, the Clinical Laboratory Department, and ARO staff, making the training a highly productive and valuable experience.

📢 ATLAS SRCG Regular Meeting — First Meeting of 2026
We were pleased to hold the first regular meeting of 2026 for the ATLAS SRCG (Sarcoma and Rare Cancer Group). Researchers and clinicians across the network came together to share updates, exchange ideas, and discuss how we can accelerate collaborative studies for sarcoma and rare cancers across Asia.
💡 New Research Proposals: Many fresh study concepts were proposed by SRCG members, reflecting diverse needs and emerging scientific questions in this field.
Thank you to all members for your engagement and thoughtful contributions. We look forward to the next steps together.

🌏🧪 11th Thailand–Japan Symposium 2026 (Thai FDA × PMDA)
On 20 January 2026 in Bangkok, ATLAS members Dr. Yuta Sekino and CRA Thoopmanee Kaendiao joined the 11th Thailand–Japan Symposium, co-hosted by the Thai FDA and Japan’s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA), focused on cooperation for improved access and sustainable health products.
💡 Regulatory Dialogue: Updates and perspectives from Thai FDA and PMDA helped frame shared priorities for cross-border collaboration.
🤝 On-site Exchange: Dr. Sekino and Ms. Kaendiao had valuable conversations with Dr. Emiko KONDO (Senior Executive Director, PMDA) and Dr. Jun KITAHARA (Head, PMDA Asia Office).

🌏🧪 Thai FDA×PMDA共催「第11回 Thailand–Japan Symposium」参加報告
ATLAS の関野雄太医師とCRA Thoopmanee Kaendiaoが、2026年1月20日にバンコクで開催されたThai FDAとPMDA共催シンポジウムに参加し、会場では、近藤恵美子 PMDA理事、北原淳 PMDAアジア事務所所長と意見交換を行いました。
