First time eating sushi in Japan!

I had the opportunity to go to a 回転寿司 - Kura Sushi restaurant (a conveyor belt sushi) with two co-workers. I got to try and learn about various kinds of sushi like Ikura salmon roe sushi or tuna yukhoe sushi – both very delicious!
I was also surprised to discover that natto sushi is a thing here in Japan!

A super delicious parfait! I was super happy to eat my parfait, because each intern gets the chance to eat try one.

About Kannonyama:

They have different work areas like packing, parlor, processing and farming sections each with different tasks:
1. In the farming section you get to watch the fruits grow and ripen, to harvest them when the time is right.
2. The packing section takes care of fruit orders, checks their quality and labels e.g. fruit jams like fig jam or fruit jellies for drinks, like peach jelly drink.
They also inspects the quality and grades them accordingly.
3. The processing section, fruits are prepared for sale as dried fruits or fresh products.
4. In the parlor, they make so-called parfaits and other desserts with seasonal fruits like grapes, figs, and peaches, strawberries, and Mikan (a typ of mandarin orange and citrus fruit that is very famous in Wakayama).
Parfaits (French for „perfect“) here at Wakayama resemble the American version more being served in a tall glass made with fresh fruits, granola, yogurt and whipped cream.

Hey there!
My name is Gajenthiri and and I`m 28 years old, currently an intern at Kannonyama.
I`m from Germany and I started my internship in September. My journey in Japan started with being introduced at the company after being picked up at the airport and continued with having 2 days time to recover from the jet lag.
During my internship I will be staying at the company`s dorm which they call „shataku“ and it is separated by gender. It has three rooms for women and three for men. The company covers the electricity and provides essentials like detergents, cleaning supplies as well as basic cooking ingredients to use in the kitchen area with all necessary equipment for cooking there.
The company is also flexible regarding the workspace and I can choose the area where I`d like to work. I work five days and have two days off in a week. In my three weeks in Wakayama, I used my day offs to take walks nearby to explore the the area or visited Osaka which is close to reach by train to go shopping or trying out capsule toy machines ,known as „gachapon“ for the first time.
It was also fun to try out some foods e.g. Kushikatsu (串カツ) or delicious Takoyaki ;)
So if you ever wanted to visit Japan, I think Kannonyama Fruit Garden is a great place to start your journey 😊
(I made my own parfait to eat!)

My name is Benedikt I am 23 years old and from germany.
I started my intership on the 2nd of july for 4 weeks
While doing my internship I learned a lot about the company.
Ever week I was working in the packing, farming and in the parlor area.
I had a lot of fun working here and got to meet many beautiful new people.
Every week I had 2 days off in which I was able to travel around.
I often went to Osaka, Nara or Kyoto which was by train very easy to get to.
If you want to learn how it is to live in japan and not just being here as a tourist,
I highly recommand doing an internship at Kannon-yama Fruits Garden.
They are always open for new Interns from all around the world.
I'm so greatfull that I was able to my internship here and I am already looking forward to my next visit in Japan.
