at
I'm really looking forward to it too.

a tiny peek into our writing retreat in the japanese alps earlier this year & what it’s like to retreat, tdr style〜
this post was inspired by .scimia who shared the most gorgeous thread on TikTok about our september retreat she attended that made me so emotional I actually created an account (haven’t posted on it yet, if you think I should, let me know?!!)
we ran six .tokyo retreats in the space of twelve months — it’s been so abundant and big and beautiful in the midst of a chaotic and challenging year, I haven’t even had time to share much about them. all I know is, I’ve been preparing my whole life for this.
every single TDR Tokyo retreat is like a story, or a collection. from the venue, to the food, to the guest workshops, the flower arrangements, the gifts, even down to the playlists (iykyk!) —— everything is very intentionally selected and curated to invoke a specific feeling or mood. in the words of a guest: “every moment felt like a walking prayer.”
our 2026 season is slowly opening for enrolment:
May | Yin Yoga YTT & Retreat (sold out)
June | Midsummer Dream Onsen Retreat with Birjiwan (bookings now open)
The Beauty Retreat & The Writing Retreat details are coming soon. please do ensure you are on the waitlist to be the first to know. please note we try to give as much notice as possible, but it is a delicate balance (& an honour) working with locations who are new to the retreat world. preparations take a lot of time (but are so worth it).
in deep gratitude for the good fortune to work on this land, for all our collaborators, all our guests, all our venues and of course, who has too many talents to list here but most of all, has the ability to make me laugh even when I feel like everything is falling apart.
we would love to see you, and hold you in 2026.
