✨ Omotesando Bilingual Toastmasters – 426th Meeting Recap ✨
We held our 426th meeting and were delighted to welcome a new member, TM Kobayashi 🙌
We also had five guests joining us at our very first meeting of 2026 😃
🌟 Good & New
As part of our long-standing Good & New tradition, members shared joyful moments—from two members joining the same company, to witnessing a niece speak for the first time, finding big free lemons, and watching a TED Talk that boosted confidence.
🎤 Prepared Speeches
We enjoyed two inspiring prepared speeches:
TM WZ (Pioneer & Tokyo Bilingual Toastmasters Club) delivered a humorous and thought-provoking speech titled “Renting a Friend in Tokyo.” His simple yet powerful question—“Why are you so cheap to rent?”—led us to reflect on modern loneliness and our deep desire for connection.
TM SH shared stories from his adventurous trip to the UK, where he faced a passport-stealing scheme, dehydration, and became so weak that he needed a wheelchair. Despite the challenges, his storytelling was engaging and full of humor—like a real-life adventure movie.
🗣️ Table Topics
TM MK led a lively Table Topics session with questions that sparked creativity and deep thinking, including predictions about the 21st century, thoughts on Otoshidama, and ideas for changing workplace rules.
