Varicose veins can be treated with a simple procedure under local anaesthetic without the need for an overnight stay in hospital. Dr Akiyoshi is a vascular surgeon specializing in laser ablation of varicose veins. This is a relatively new procedure which is much less invasive and offers a quicker recovery time compared to traditional vein ‘stripping’. Dr Akiyoshi performs laser ablation procedures as day surgery on site here at the clinic.

The American Cancer Society has recently updated its guidelines regarding screening for colorectal cancer. It now recommends that adults who are at average risk begin screening at the age of 45 rather than 50. This is in response to an increasing incidence of colorectal cancer in young adults. Our English speaking gastroenterologist performs colonoscopy using sedation at our clinic located in central Tokyo.

The American Cancer Society believes that preventing colorectal cancer (and not just finding it early) should be a major reason for getting tested. Learn more here.
