2026年3月15日に、国際交流イベント「ベトナム味覚探検」を行いました。
Mine秋吉台ジオパークは、2023年にベトナムのドンヴァンカルスト台地ユネスコ世界ジオパークと連携協定（MOU）を締結しています。今回のイベントでは、ベトナムやドンヴァンカルスト台地ユネスコ世界ジオパークを紹介し、 Mine秋吉台ジオパークとの地質地形遺産等の違いについて触れました。また、ベトナムの食文化の体験として、ベトナム「フォー」作りやベトナム産のコーヒーとチョコレートのペアリングも楽しんでもらいました。
「フォー」作りでは、Mine秋吉台ジオパークのパートナーである大洋パッキング（株）で働いているベトナム人の皆さんにご協力いただき、参加者の方々と一緒に調理をしました。
インスタントフォーを用い、牛肉や玉ねぎ、パクチーなどの新鮮な食材を組み合わせることで、ベトナム北部の「フォー」の味を再現できました。ベトナム人の方と地域住民の方が一緒に調理を行い、言語を超えて自由に交流されている姿に、事務局としても大変嬉しいひとときでした。
今後も、地域内で働く外国人の方々と地域住民との国際交流イベントなどを通じて多文化共生社会の実現につなげていきたいと思います。

On March 15, 2026, we held an international exchange event called "A Taste of Vietnam."
Miné-Akiyoshidai Karst Plateau Geopark signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with D**g Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark in Vietnam in 2023. At our event, we introduced Vietnam and D**g Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark, while highlighting the differences between our geological heritage. Additionally, as a hands-on experience of Vietnamese food culture, participants enjoyed making Vietnamese "Pho" and pairing Vietnamese coffee with chocolate.
For the Pho-making session, we collaborated with Vietnamese individuals working at Taiyo Packing Co., Ltd., a partner of Miné-Akiyoshidai Karst Plateau Geopark, to cook together with the participants. By using instant pho and combining it with fresh ingredients such as beef, onions, and coriander, we were able to recreate the authentic taste of Northern Vietnamese Pho. It was a truly heartening moment for the Secretariat to see the Vietnamese members and local residents cooking together and interacting freely, transcending language barriers.
Moving forward, we hope to continue building a multicultural society through international exchange events between foreign residents working in the region and local community members.
