The Place That Found Me in Taipei
Hello, it’s Akira.
AMIGO HOUSE is open as usual, but I’m back in Taipei for the first time in a year.
To be honest, I couldn’t quite focus in the first few days.I had pushed myself to come, but something felt a bit off.
Then recommended a quiet place to work.
And that’s how I found .boven .
A café and a magazine library in one.
So calm, &Premium’s pop-up was on, the tea was beautiful, and the atmosphere… just what I didn’t know I needed.
I spotted a book made for boven’s 10th anniversary.
I can’t read Chinese, but I felt something and brought it to the counter.
The staff smiled and said:
“This is Spencer—the founder. He’s also the one on the cover.”
And somehow, he already knew about AMIGO HOUSE.
He had seen the video made this spring and had been curious🙌
It felt like our paths had been quietly circling toward each other.
My friend’s magazine was also on the shelf.
Little signs everywhere.
Was it just chance?
Or do we live in a way that calls these moments in?
I’ve only skimmed the table of contents and afterword so far, translating bits as I go,
but every phrase I meet feels like it’s speaking directly to me.
打造靈感的場所
A place of inspiration.
That’s what boven is.
And I hope AMIGO HOUSE can be something like that too.
not just a place to stay,
but a space where people leave with new questions, and a little more clarity than they arrived with.
Inspiration found.
And still unfolding.
