Sustainability is closely linked to agricultural practices. We focus on organic farming practices, composting, and long-term soil health because protecting the soil can contribute to long-term agricultural viability.
We carry that same approach into our communities. Through the LIMBUA Foundationโs CHIPUKIZI MAZINGIRA FANS initiative (launched February 2025), we partner with 37 schools to support practical waste management in rural Kenya, where centralized waste collection is often unavailable. Students, many from smallholder farming families, collect non-biodegradable waste and bring it to school collection points. On collection days, the waste is weighed, then we transport it and hand it to a contracted licensed waste management company for sorting, recycling where possible, and safe disposal of non-recyclables.
Approximately 200 smallholder families benefit directly, and we are committed to expanding to reach more schools and communities.
