Day 2 marked the conclusion of a productive two day workshop held at Nokras Hotel, bringing together the hospital management team and Heads of Department to develop the hospital’s 5 year Strategic Plan (2026–2031).
The session also provided an opportunity to reflect on the progress and key achievements realized under the previous strategic plan.
The new strategic plan is focused on building upon what has worked well over the years, while identifying areas for improvement to further strengthen service delivery.
Our goal remains clear: to provide high quality, patient centered care while upholding the highest standards of healthcare, and to position the hospital as a leading teaching and referral facility in the country.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Department of Health, led by CEC for Health Jamal Runyenje Ogw , as well as the hospital management, for their continued support and commitment. Their dedication has been instrumental in shaping a practical, forward looking, and impactful vision for the future of our hospital.

We proudly celebrate a remarkable achievement by our Hospital CEO, Bancy Mutuah, following the recognition of Embu Level 5 Hospital as the leading facility countrywide in the uptake and purchase of drugs and medical supplies from KEMSA following our hospital's exemplary performance in HPT procurement from them amounting to 112,411,205 as well as payment reciepts totalling to 92,938,836.70 for the period of July 2025 to date. This partnership has played a key role in enhancing the quality and efficiency of healthcare services in Embu County.
The recognition is a true reflection of exemplary leadership, strong financial stewardship, and an unwavering commitment to ensuring consistent availability of essential medicines for our patients.

During the meeting, the hospital also highlighted key areas requiring improvement from KEMSA to enhance service delivery. The team acknowledged these concerns and committed to addressing them to further strengthen efficiency and support healthcare provision.
Under her leadership, the facility continues to set the benchmark in healthcare excellence, reinforcing its position as a trusted provider of reliable and accessible medical services.

In honour of World Kidney Day, we held a celebration at our facility today to mark this important occasion. The ceremony was graced by our hospital administrator, the nursing manager, other members of the top management team, staff from the renal department, and our dialysis patients.
The day also marked a significant milestone for the hospital as we celebrated 10 years of the renal department at our facility. Over the years, the department has experienced tremendous growth in various aspects of service delivery. As we continue to expand our capacity, we are proud to remain one of the leading facilities providing quality renal care.
As we commemorate this day, we encourage everyone to take proactive steps to protect their kidneys by:

•Drinking enough water
•Avoiding unnecessary over the counter medication
•Taking care of the environment
•Completing prescribed medication as directed by your doctor
•Reducing excessive salt intake, among other preventive measures

We also extend our sincere gratitude to the staff and all stakeholders involved in the renal department for their commitment and dedication in ensuring that renal patients receive quality care over the years.
