GOUT ARTHRITIS ✨️✨️

Gout is a kind of arthritis that causes sudden, painful swelling in the joints, usually starting in the big toe. It happens when too much uric acid builds up in the blood, forming sharp crystals in the joints.

This can be caused by eating too much red meat, seafood, drinking alcohol or sugary drinks, certain medicines, or not drinking enough water. People who are older, overweight, have high blood pressure, or kidney problems are more likely to get gout.

A gout attack can be very painful and make the joint red, warm, and swollen. Doctors can find out if it is gout through blood tests or checking joint fluid. Treatment includes medicine to reduce swelling and pain.

To prevent future attacks, it helps to drink water, eat healthy foods, limit meat and alcohol, and keep a healthy weight. With the right care, gout can be controlled and managed well.

🌺🌺 Now, let's discuss Cerebral palsy 🌺🌺.

What is Cerebral palsy?
A congenital/neurological dis0rder of movement, muscle tone or posture.

What is palsy?
Palsy means weakness or problems with the movement of the body.

Note: CP can actually occur before, during and after birth.

🏵Can can predispose a child to this condition?🏵

▶ Prolonged lab0ur: This is one of the causes of CP, when labour is prolonged without proper monitoring and intervention, it could predispose a child to CP because the fetus inutero may be in distress during this period.
▶Maternal infecti0ns like gon0rrhea, syphilis etc especially when left untreated.
▶Sh0ck
▶ Birth trauma
▶ Asphixia
▶ Hypoglycemia
▶ When the baby fails to get adequate oxygen needed.
▶ Lack of folic ac id: Yes, when you don't adhere to your routine drugs, especially your folic ac!d, it can predispose your baby to CP.
▶Jaundice
▶ Meconium aspiration: This usually happens when the fetus is in distress, they tends to pass meconium and because the baby is still struggling in the womb, they tens to aspirate the meconium. You can imagine such traumatizing scenario.
▶Substance used by the pregnant mother can cause it too.
▶ Preenclampsia
▶ Brain dàmage due to toxic buildup of bilirubin.

🏵 How to reduce the r!sk of predisposing your child to CP. 🏵

⏩ Take your antennal visit seriously.
⏩ Don't joke with your routine dru gs.
⏩ Don't manager or hide any symptoms during pregnancy, talk to your doctor/midwife.
⏩ Always be teachable.
⏩ Know when to opt for an elective CS, don't wait till it become life threatening before you except to go for an elective CS.

⏩ After birth, still monitor your child properly.
⏩ Monitor their growth and milestone too.
⏩ Don't leave your child with a minor maybe an infant or a toddler, they can harm the baby innocently.
