Kapsoit!
Things that happen in this small urban center will shock the world. Things that make you heart bleed with hurt and pain. A dangerous place for not just young girls but society as a whole.
I do my hustle in this small town. My hustle sometimes take me to past midnight! I have witnessed too much in the last 2yrs or so.
I came to Kapsoit during the COVID-19 pandemic. i put up a small business there. Kapsoit is a a fast growing urban center in Kericho, thanks to it's strategic position along the busy Trans-Afircan Highway. Transit vehicles moving from the port of Mombasa to neighboring countries of Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, S. Sudan and Eastern Congo spend the night here.
But while it's Economy is growing, so do many vices majorly being Prostitution and Crime.
What's more? The biggest concern is the child prostitution. Girls as young as 13yrs are in this business. And they are not even hiding anymore. They face you directly. They drink without blinking an eye, the talk dirty, foul mouth, they dance like st*****rs, they dress like they don't care. And they are 13! Very young man on their side are forever buffing w**d and to***co. They are drinking illicit brew like water.They mug business people on broad daylight. And the police just watch them.
The danger they pose to society is immense. The risk of STI and STDs infection is so high that even innocent ones will not be spared.
The moral fabric that holds the society is long rotten in this town. You are left to wonder what's the role of parents in all this?
I did embarked on a fact finding mission and my own research. I decided to take a sample of one young girl, coincidentally, she is from my village 8kms away from Kapsoit center. Mind you she is a form 2 students at Kapsoit Secondary. By closely tracing her I did a lot of revelation.
