The Aga Khan Medical Centre, Kisii was comissioned in 2005 and was the first outreach centre of AKHK.

It has since grown and is now a 24 hour hospital with services expanded to include inpatient, outpatient, Accident and Emergency and Specialist Clinics.

Yesterday, to commemorate World AIDS Day under the theme “Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response,” we joined the Kisii county government in marking this important day. The ceremony was flagged off by Suzanne Kalinda, Chief Health Officer, Kisii County.

We began the walk from Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital to Kisii University, where we set up a wellness camp offering free cervical cancer screening and mental health screening to empower the community.
