Community Impact Through Kidney Screening
Second year Nursing Students were honored to take part in a Kidney Screening Partnership at Synergy Hospital, Kisumu, supporting efforts to improve community health.
One important observation was that many people are not aware of kidney disorders and their risk factors, and most rarely go for health check-ups. Many individuals are also living with hypertension and high blood sugar without knowing, conditions that can silently affect kidney function.
Kidneys play a vital role in removing waste, balancing fluids, and regulating blood pressure.
Let’s protect them by maintaining a healthy lifestyle and going for regular check-ups.
Prevention and awareness can save lives.

In moments of crisis, the true spirit of nursing rises to the surface. Nurse Jeptoo's response to the tragic helicopter crash in Mosop, Nandi County, is a powerful reminder of the courage, competence, and humanity that nurses bring to every emergency.

Jeptoo's actions reflect not only personal bravery, but the strength of a profession built on service, preparedness, and unwavering commitment to life-saving care, even in the most challenging circumstances.

National Nurses Association of Kenya (NNAK) extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and expresses solidarity with all emergency responders who worked tirelessly at the scene. We remain committed to supporting and uplifting nurses who exemplify excellence in service to our nation.

In recognition of Nurse Jeptoo's exceptional courage and professionalism, NNAK is honored to offer her sponsorship for *Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)* training to further strengthen her emergency response skills and continue empowering her to save lives.
