To wrap up our 2025, we facilitated a physical session centered on dance at the Kisumu Children’s Remand Home as part of our activities to offer psychosocial support and skill development.

Incorporating physical activity into psychosocial support provides a healthy outlet for stress, encourages social bonding, and helps rebuild self-esteem for young individuals.

We are proud of the progress we have seen this year and look forward to continuing our support in 2026.

As the year comes to a close, many people begin to feel the weight of returning home and managing family expectations. Our recent edition of created space for honest reflection on how these pressures shape emotional wellbeing as the holidays approach.

Participants explored the tension between responsibility and personal freedom, and spoke about the need for boundaries that protect their sense of self. The conversation encouraged individuals to choose support that feels healthy, respond with intention, and recognise their own emotional limits.

By nurturing open dialogue, Soulevement Kenya continues to help communities build emotional awareness, strengthen supportive relationships, and prepare for the season with clarity and calm.

At the 3rd Okiri Festival, we were joined by advocates from the Law Society of Kenya, Kisumu Chapter, who provided critical guidance on the justice system.

Ensuring these young people and their families understand their rights and responsibilities is a crucial step in their rehabilitation and future protection.

Our staff, together with young individuals from our program, took a pause from the usual routine for an important Sports for Wellness day. We were glad to team up with our partners at , joining 14 other organizations from Kisumu County in the event organized by .

The day offered our staff time to relax and connect, while the youth found joy in a supportive space beyond the regular program setting.

We appreciate Blue Cross Kenya for leading this thoughtful initiative. It reminded us that caring for our well-being is part of the work that helps us make lasting impact.

Their presence and insights, along with the support of parents and our partners, made this day truly memorable.

The Okiri Digital Literacy Project is a flagship program by Soulevement Kenya designed to transform the lives of young people aged 15-18 who are in conflict or contact with the law. By providing practical skills and support, we're helping them build a successful future and confidently transition back into society.

This weekend, we hosted a rainbow picnic as part of our Mind & Nature Program.

&Nature is designed to support youth mental health by creating space for meaningful connection with nature. The program recognizes the deep link between time outdoors and emotional well-being, offering activities that encourage rest, reflection, and community.

The picnic gave young people a chance to sit together, talk about the burdens they carry, and exchange ideas on how to cope. Sharing in this way reminded everyone that support is stronger when it comes from community.

After the conversations, we enjoyed snacks and games that brought energy, laughter, and friendship. These activities created an atmosphere where everyone could feel included and connected.

Thank you to all who joined and made this picnic a place of warmth, openness, and genuine care.

As part of the program, youth engaged in presentation sessions where they shared their own projects with peers.

These sessions created space for them to practise public speaking, strengthen critical thinking, and build the confidence needed to communicate ideas clearly in any setting.

Strong communication is a core skill for education, employment, and community leadership. By practising it early, youth are preparing themselves for opportunities ahead and shaping the future they want to create.
