In September 2024,Kenya's parliament passed the Breast Milk Substitutes Regulation and control Bill to promote breastfeeding as the ideal food for infants while in 2019 a Breastfeeding Mothers Bill was passed to provide for breastfeeding mothers in the workplace and public spaces, including baby changing facilities.MOH recommends breastfeeding for the first six months of life and continued breastfeeding along with complementary food upto 2years of age.Although we struggle to implement this health policies,the healthcare workers have done mostly health education on this which has really helped achieving Breastfeeding goals.Now this week you can do something as an individual to promote breastfeeding and end breastfeeding stigma ,children risk of illness, malnutrition and mortality. .☺️
