Citrus Yield Is Decided Early — Not at Harvest
THIS IS HOW CITRUS LOSES YIELD — QUIETLY.
It doesn’t start with rotten fruit.
It doesn’t start with black leaves.
It starts weeks earlier, when the tree is flowering and setting fruit.
Small insects feed.
The damage is invisible.
Later, the signs appear:
• Blackened leaves (sooty mould)
• Cracked young fruit
• Fruit rotting on the tree
By then, the loss is already permanent.
THE HARD TRUTH
You don’t fix citrus problems.
You prevent them.
Spraying more doesn’t help.
Spraying on time does.
Citrus rewards farmers who act early —
and punishes those who react late.
If you grow citrus, this lesson matters.
If you advise farmers, this lesson saves seasons.
What stage do you focus on most — flowering, fruit set, or only when damage shows?
