“Bush Toilet Techniques: A Field Guide”

They say necessity is the mother of invention — but in the bush, desperation is the father.

It all started on a group hike when everyone had one thing in common: too much roadside food, and no bathroom in sight. Nature called — collectively.

1. The “Tree Hugger” Method
Kevin ran behind a tree, hugged it like a long-lost lover, leaned back, and prayed for balance.
He later said, “I felt spiritually connected to the bark… and also mildly scratched.”

2. The “Squat and Hope” Technique
Janet chose the classic squat — knees bent, eyes wide, shaking like a leaf in the wind.
Problem is, she forgot to check the wind direction. Nature… replied.
She came back muttering, “I’ve seen things. Felt things. Smelled... everything.”

3. The “Log Throne” Approach
Brian got creative. He found a fallen log, sat on it like royalty, and let gravity do its thing.
Unfortunately, a family of squirrels didn’t take kindly to the intrusion.
He sprinted out of the bush yelling, “They’ve seen me naked and they're angry!”

4. The “Buddy System”
Linda, nervous about snakes, made her friend stand guard while she did her business.
Every five seconds she shouted, “Still there? Any snakes?”
Her friend eventually replied, “No snakes. But a boda guy just passed by. I think he saw... everything.”

From squatting like a ninja to balancing on logs like jungle gym champions, everyone had their own bush toilet technique.

One thing’s for sure — if you survive pooping in the wild, you can survive anything.
