PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT: INCREASE IN MPOX CASES IN MOMBASA

MEWA Hospital wishes to inform the public of a recent uptick in Mpox (Monkeypox) cases reported in Mombasa County. As a trusted health provider, we urge community members to stay informed and take necessary precautions to protect themselves and others.

🦠 What is Mpox?

Mpox is a viral illness transmitted through:
• Close physical contact with an infected person
• Contaminated materials such as clothing, bedding, or surfaces
• Direct contact with infected animals

• Fever, fatigue, and severe headache
• Swollen lymph nodes
