DID YOU KNOW? Your oral health is closely connected to your overall health!

It’s not just about a bright smile or fresh breath, your mouth is the gateway to your body. Here’s how poor oral hygiene can affect your health:
1. Heart Health
Gum disease (periodontitis) can increase your risk of heart disease. Bacteria from inflamed gums can enter your bloodstream and cause heart inflammation or clog arteries.

2. Diabetes Risk
Oral health problems make it harder to manage blood sugar. People with gum disease are more likely to struggle with diabetes — and vice versa.

3. Respiratory Infections
Bacteria from your mouth can be inhaled into your lungs, leading to respiratory problems like pneumonia, especially in older adults.

4. Pregnancy Complications
Gum disease is linked to premature birth and low birth weight. Pregnant women need to take extra care of their oral health for both their sake and the baby’s.

The Good News? You Can Prevent This!
✔️ Brush twice daily
✔️ Floss every day
✔️ Visit your dentist regularly
✔️ Eat a healthy, balanced diet

5 Essential Tips for a Healthier Smile!

Good oral hygiene isn’t just about fresh breath—it’s about your overall health! Here’s how to keep your teeth strong and gums healthy:

✅ Brush Twice a Day – Use fluoride toothpaste and brush for at least 2 minutes.
✅ Floss Daily – Removes plaque and debris from places your toothbrush can’t reach!
✅ Use Mouthwash – Helps kill bacteria and freshens breath.
✅ Limit Sugary Foods & Drinks – Sugar promotes cavity-causing bacteria!
✅ Visit Your Dentist Regularly – Routine checkups help prevent major dental problems.

💡 Pro Tip: Replace your toothbrush every 3 months for optimal cleaning!
