As you apply for the board position do note that the KESWA Board position is 100% voluntary and not compensated/renumerated. Individuals selected to serve on the Board volunteer their time and expertise as strategic thinkers who assist to drive the s*x workers movement and advocacy agenda forward. The Board provides governance, strategic direction, and oversight of s*x workers community-led advocacy efforts at the national, regional, and global levels.

Kindly also note that priority for Board positions is given to self-proclaimed and identified s*x workers, allies, and stakeholders who have proven and demonstrated experience working with s*x worker communities to drive change.

This is an opportunity to contribute your expertise and strategic leadership while also strengthening your personal and professional growth.

We have organized, resisted injustice, and led movements for decriminalization across Africa. Our power is collective. Our voices are unstoppable.

March 3rd is International S*x Workers’ Rights Day.

S*x work is work.

That means s*x workers are workers — deserving of the same labour protections, safety standards, and human rights as anyone else.

S*x workers are multi-talented, multi-skilled members of our communities. We are artists, writers, administrators, entrepreneurs, advocates, caregivers, organizers, and leaders. We build businesses. We support families. We create culture. We mentor peers. We hold communities together.

The fight for s*x workers’ rights is a labour rights fight.

It is about workplace safety.
It is about fair treatment.
It is about freedom from violence and discrimination.
It is about the right to organize.
It is about decriminalization so workers can access protections without fear.

Criminalization and stigma don’t make people safer — they push workers further from support, justice, and basic labour standards.

At Peers Victoria Resources Society, we stand with s*x workers in the ongoing fight for dignity, safety, and full recognition as workers.

When we say s*x work is work, we mean it.
