The impact of COVID19 countrywide is beyond mortality, morbility, travel bans, lost jobs, teen pregnancies, GBV and social injustices.
COVID19 made us know the people we relate with.
It has changed science, politics & given us a chance to dive deep on social issues.
At a time when Kenya is about to go to elections in five months, politicians, government and county governments should not forget to provide job opportunities for adults with disabilities.

People with disabilities constitute one of the most underserved segments of the population across the financial sector.

According to 2019 census statistics, 2.2 percent of Kenyans🇰🇪 are living with some form of disability.♿

Of this population, only 0.5 percent are included within the formal financial 💸system despite inclusion having risen to 82.9 percent.

Financial inclusion has not sufficiently impacted clients with disabilities.

This year’s theme is ‘Leadership and Participation of Persons with Disabilities Toward an Inclusive, Accessible and Sustainable Post COVID-19 world’.

People with disabilities remain at a disadvantage in terms of inclusive development in comparison to those without disabilities.
We are glad to see Governor Anyang' Nyong'o putting in programs to close existing gaps. These good practices can be scaled up with political commitment and adequate resources in other counties as well.
