At Women & Youth for Social Justice, we join the global movement for the 2025 16 Days of Activism, running from November 25 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) to December 10 (Human Rights Day).
This year’s theme — “UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls” — highlights a growing crisis: online harassment, image-based abuse, cyberstalking, gendered disinformation, and other forms of digital violence.

💬 What we commit to:

1. Raising awareness in our communities about digital safety for women and youth
2. Challenging harmful gender norms online and offline
3. Supporting survivors with empathy and access to resources
4. Calling on policymakers, tech companies, and civil society to ensure safe, inclusive digital spaces

Join us — speak out, share your voice, stand with survivors, and demand change. Together, we can build a world free from violence.

“Globally, 5% of new HIV infections could be averted by 2030 by scaling up programs that address intimate partner violence,” according to UNAIDS.

Today is International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. Gender-based violence and HIV are deeply interconnected. In countries across Africa where SLF partners work, women and girls face disproportionate risk to HIV — heightened by s*xual and gender-based violence, coercion and persistent barriers to education and economic opportunity.

Addressing gender inequities is essential to ending the HIV epidemic.

We are honoured to partner with community-led organizations that are leading the way with holistic, trauma-informed support. Their approaches help survivors rebuild confidence, navigate vital support systems and advocate for justice, safety and equitable health care.
