Gynaecological cancer refers to cancers that can affect the reproductive system

● Cervical Cancer

Abnormal Va**nal Bleeding is one of the major signs of gynae cancer.

Normal va**nal bleeding (periods) should occur every 21-35 days and last between 2-7 days

What is abnormal va**nal bleeding?

1. Bleeding in-between Periods
2. Bleeding heavier than usual
3. Bleeding after s*x
4. Post menopausal bleeding.

Va**nal pH

The normal pH levels of the Va**na ranges between 3.8 to 4.5. This is moderately acidic.

However, with age what is termed as “normal” could be slightly varied. For example, women in the reproductive age should have their pH below or equal to 4.5

During menopause or menstruation, the levels go slightly above the 4.5 level

Why does Va**nal pH matter?

An acidic va**nal environment serves as protection in that it inhibits the multiplication of bacteria and yeast that could potentially causing infections.

When the pH is above 4.5 then it creates a conducive environment for unhealthy bacteria to grow.

Causes of imbalanced Va**nal pH
√. Unprotected could potentially cause imbalances as semen is alkaline and that could encourage bacteria growth

√. Some antibiotics could in the process of killing harmful bacteria that causes disease could in the process kill good bacteria necessary for maintaining a healthy acidic va**nal pH.

√. Douching increases, the pH levels and encourages the growth of harmful bacteria

√. The use of some fancy strong scented feminine products offsets pH levels

Signs and symptoms of imbalanced va**nal pH

√. Fishy or foul smell

√. Unusual va**nal discharge that could be white, gray, or green

√. Itching or burning sensation

√. Pain while passing urine

Treatment

The advisable thing to do is go see a doctor that will prescribe the right medication

practicing safe s*x, healthy feminine care helps, and incorporating a healthy diet helps maintain normal va**nal Ph.

Black- va**nal blockage that is if blood stays in the Uterus enough it reacts with oxygen and as such looks darker
Also blood looks darker at the beginning of period

Brown- beginning of period

Orange- period blood mixed with cervical fluid

Endometriosis and fertility:

Endometriosis is a painful disorder that is caused by tissues that normally line the uterus grow outside of it.

When endometriosis is moderate or severe then laparoscopy is done

The treatment could be:

1. Coagulation or excising of endometrial foci

2. Dissection of adhesions

3. Removal of endometrial cysts if there are any

If after surgery the patient still cannot conceive then the doctor recommends for IVF to help with conception

Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) in women

This is an infection in any part of the urinary system; urethra, kidneys, and bladder.

Women mostly at the risk of developing UTIs more than men.
Mostly they are caused by the entry of bacteria in the urinary tract via the urethra and begin to multiply in the bladder.

The female anatomy has the va**na very close to the a**l opening and that can lead to bacteria moving from the latter region to the urethra.

Symptoms

Mostly the UTIs do not display symptoms but when they do they include

• Burning sensation when p*eing

• A strong and persistent urge to p*e and mostly the urine is in small amounts

• Cloudy urine

• Urine being reddish, bright pink or take the cola color meaning there is blood in the urine

• Pelvic pain
Treatment:

√ UTIs are mainly treated through prescription of antibiotics however there are steps to prevent the infection

√ Frequently drink water or other liquids but the water helps to dilute urine and cause more frequent urinating hence flushing bacteria off the urinary tract before they cause an infection

√ Always wipe from front to back

√ Urinating after in*******se and taking a glass of water to help flush the bacteria off

√ Keep off irritating and unnecessary feminine products

√ If caused by a birth control, specifically some condoms facilitate growth of bacteria.
Change your birth control method. Diaphragms, or unlubricated or spermicide-treated condoms, can all contribute to bacterial growth.
