Why the breast milk is the best for baby during the first 6 months of delivery.
1.Its a balanced I.e it has all nutrients needed for the baby's growth.
2. Its has immunoglobulin that help in boosting immunity and prevents diseases.
3.It has enough water so the baby should not be given extra water.
4. Its in the right temperature especially if suckling the mother.
5.It is easily digested hence can't predispose the baby to stomach upsets
6.Available all the time as long as the mother feeds well.

Umbilical cord care.
Cord care can be troublesome especially for the first time mothers. Let me shade some light on its care
1. In the first hours after the baby is born, the cord should be checked for bleeding and proper ligation(tying) because the baby can bleed to death.
2.Don't cover the cord. The pampers should not cover it.
3. Apply cholorohexidine gel or solution which is specifically for baby use.
4.Don't happy surgical spirit as it use to be some time back.
5. The cord should be kept dry all the time. Avoid wetness for this may lead to infection of the cord and to the baby.
6. If the cord discharges pus. That's a danger that the baby may develop sepsis. You should let the baby be seen by a medical expert.
7. The cord should be able to dry off and fall by itself within seven days after delivery.
I hope this helps some one.
Have a blessed day
