Dear reader,

Did you know that autism and other related conditions are not contagious? Sadly, some people mistakenly believe that being around neurodiverse individuals could somehow affect them. This is simply not true. Neurodiversity is not something that can be “caught” or transmitted from person to person.

Conditions such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, brain injury, muscular dystrophy, and other similar diagnoses are not contagious in any way. These are neurological or genetic differences, not illnesses that can be spread through contact or association.

I encourage you to take the time to learn and educate yourself about these conditions. They do not discriminate—they can affect anyone, regardless of race, background, or socioeconomic status. Understanding and compassion are the first steps toward creating a more inclusive world for everyone.

Yours truly,

A neurodiverse mom

Dear reader,

Have you ever stopped to consider the profound impact of including or excluding a child with disabilities? When a child is left out, it's not just them who feels the sting of isolation; their entire family can be affected. Siblings may miss out on shared experiences, and parents might struggle to find opportunities for connection and community engagement. This ripple effect can strain family dynamics and diminish everyone's emotional well-being.

Imagine a vibrant community where every family feels connected, appreciated, and included! Embracing inclusivity is about much more than supporting one child—it's about creating a nurturing environment for entire families to thrive together.

Let’s work towards a more inclusive world! The Stem Resource Group team is here to help you on this journey to build a community where everyone feels they belong. Together, we can make a difference!
