Many plant-parasitic nematodes feed on the roots of plants.
The nematodes causes swellings known as galls or root knots that blocks the transport of water and nutrients through the plant.
These damages are seen in reduction of root mass, a distortion of root structure.
Also these nematode feeding sites in the roots can also provide entrance for other disease-causing organisms, like fungi or bacteria, leading to increased plant damage.

Humic extracts or substance have positive effects on plant physiology by improving soil structure and fertility and by influencing nutrient uptake and root architecture.
