With a , bleeding can be heavy like a period for up to a week(but varies depending on the gestation). Passing clots smaller than a lemon is ok and part of the process. Since your uterine lining is thick, it will slowly shed.
Bleeding can be heavy especially the first 6-8 hours after using the pills, then gets lighter which lasts around 5-12 days. Next Periods usually resume after 4-6 weeks.

So, when is it a problem?

When you are soaking through more than four pads in less than two hours (or one pad every half hour) it’s a problem. If you aren’t wearing pads, and find that blood is gushing, keep a close eye on the duration of heavy blood loss and how you’re feeling. If you are bleeding excessively, and are weak/pale/dizzy, urgently seek medical assistance.

With a surgical abortion( ) , bleeding is usually lighter and for a shorter duration normally around 3-4days on average. It may look similar or lesser to a period.
Other people can experience spotting and mild cramping, which is totally fine.
