ALBINO GAW DAR LAM, ACTING CHAIRMAN OF THE FANGAK COMMUNITY, WROTE A LETTER OF APPRECIATION TO PRESIDENT SALVA KIIR MAYARDIT OF SOUTH SUDAN FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF CDE. PUOK BOL PAR AS CHAIRPERSON OF THE SPLM YOUTH LEAGUE AND LT. GEN. ABRAHAM KEAT BICHIOK AS DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE EXTERNAL SECURITY BUREAU.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Many people who waste their time following and believing G*i Nyadeang’s posts do not even know him in person. That is why they keep listening to his false narratives. If you truly knew him, you would not even bother to comment on his posts. A mature and responsible person can clearly see that he is misleading the public by spreading lies about the IO—claiming “IO this” and “IO that.” In reality, he is the one damaging the credibility of IO and that very phrase and behavior make it look like IO is a party only for the Nuer, which is false.

But since he keeps confusing people, I will respond to the post he wrote about Albino Gaw Dar Lam, the Acting Chairman of the Fangak Community, in the absence of the Chairman, Hassan D**g.

If you can read and understand English well, then read this carefully.

First of all, in any community association, there is a clear structure and protocol. There are three principal signatories:
1. Chairperson
2. Secretary General
3. Finance Secretary/Treasurer

Therefore, when the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson are absent, the Secretary General automatically assumes the role and responsibilities of the Chairperson on an acting basis. There is absolutely no reason to reject this unless you do not know anything…

Secondly, we must understand the difference between a community organization and a political organization. Albino’s congratulatory and acknowledgement letter was not political or sycophantic. He has every right to congratulate any son or daughter of Fangak, no matter which political party recommended that person. Fangak Community is a non-partisan body. It exists to serve its people, not to promote any political party.

Thirdly, the so-called “Nuer Weew” language used by some people especially when they label Nuer in SPLM-IG as “Nuer Weew” is harmful and irresponsible. That phrase itself creates the false impression that SPLM-IO belongs only to the Nuer, and that any Nuer outside IO is a traitor. This kind of language promotes division, fuels hatred, and isolates Nuer people across political lines.

SPLM-IO is a national movement, not a tribal party. It is a political-military home for all South Sudanese who believe in its objectives and vision. The same applies to SPLM-IG. Both are national parties, not tribal clubs.

Lastly, SPLM-IO and SPLM-IG are national political parties that can accommodate all South Sudanese, regardless of tribe. The Secretary General of any community association is a principal signatory and has the right to act as Chairperson when the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson are absent.

I urge G*i Nyadeang to stop calling liberators like Lt. Gen. Abraham Keat Bichiok “Nuer Weew.” It is absurd and disrespectful,…. Young politicians should avoid and stop using abusive language that destroys unity and disrespects the dignity of the our people across political lines.

Let the community remain above politics, and let politics be handled with respect and principle.

Thank you.

Who told you that SPLM-IO is only for Nuer and SPLM-IG is only for Dinka? This kind of thinking is dangerous and wrong.

Some illiterate, uneducated people with low IQ make it difficult for us, the citizens of this land, to breathe. When a Nuer stands up and says “no” to impunity, they are labeled as IO. When a Dinka says “no” to impunity, they are called a rebel. When a Nuer joins IG, they call him “Nuer WEEW.” When a Dinka joins IO, they say he is only looking for a position.

Let’s be clear: standing against impunity is not about tribe—it’s about justice and accountability.

Abel Alier, born 23 June 1933 in Bor, is a giant of our history, the first Vice President of Sudan (1971).

HE ONCE TOLD DR. RIEK MACHAR, “YOU WILL NEVER RULE SOUTH SUDAN.” DR. MACHAR REPLIED, “YOU WILL NOT DIE UNTIL I RULE.”

Today, Abel Alier is 92 years old and bedridden, a living witness to history. On the other hand, Dr. Riek Machar remains in court and under house arrest, where he has been for nearly a year.

So, who is right today?
Who truly holds trust in the eyes of history?
Alier at 92, lying in bed a witness to decades of change…
Machar under house arrest for nearly a year...what will destiny decide?

Time is moving. Destiny is moving. Leadership is unfolding.
Will Machar one day be President?
Will Alier live to see it and smile in congratulations?

NB: This exchange is part of political oral history and is not supported by a verified public record. If it occurred, it was most likely during the 1990s to early 2000s, a period when Dr. Riek Machar was politically isolated and often dismissed by older political elites, including figures like Abel Alier, who was then a widely respected elder statesman.

Hon. Amb. Stephen Par Kuol is the only politician who says no to ANARCHY and IMPUNITY.

He is the reason why the R-ARCSS is still alive. The 2018 agreement would have been cancelled and declared dead if it were not for him.

In short and simple terms, Hon. Amb. Stephen Par is the one nursing the 2018 agreement on its sickbed.— Said by one of the Fangak sycophants.

THE TRUTH BEHIND THE “VULTURE AND THE CHILD” PHOTOGRAPH: ENDING A DANGEROUS LIE:

Few images in history have shocked the world like the photograph commonly known as “Vulture Watching Starving Child.” Its official title is The Vulture and the Little Girl, taken by South African photojournalist Kevin Carter.

For years, this image has been misused on social media and in political arguments. Some people falsely claim that it shows a Dinka child in Bor during the 1991 conflict.
This is not true.

This lie has been repeated so often that many people now believe it. But facts, records, and international journalism prove otherwise.

THE REAL STORY:

The photograph was taken on March 1, 1993, in Ayod, a village that was then part of southern Sudan and is now in South Sudan.

At that time, Ayod was suffering from a devastating famine caused by years of civil war. Thousands of families were starving. Aid agencies had set up a United Nations feeding center nearby, and the child in the photo was struggling toward that center when the picture was taken.

This moment was not staged, and it had nothing to do with Bor or the 1991 violence.

HOW THE IMAGE WAS MANIPULATED:

Over time, the photo began circulating with false captions. People attached their own political or tribal messages to it. The goal was not truth, but emotion to shock, to anger, and to divide.

By linking the image to Bor and the Dinka community, some individuals turned a humanitarian tragedy into a tool for hate.

This is dangerous.

WHY THE TRUTH MATTERS:

Images like this carry deep emotional power. When they are used dishonestly, they:
i. Spread hatred and tribal division
ii. Rewrite history
iii. Hurt innocent communities
iv. Distract from real suffering
The child in the photograph represents all South Sudanese children who suffered from hunger, war, and displacement, not one tribe, not one region, and not one political group.

CHOOSING UNITY OVER LIES:

South Sudan has lost too many lives to lies and division. We cannot continue to poison our future by spreading false stories.

Telling the truth about this photo does not erase the pain of Bor, Ayod, or any other place. It simply ensures that no community is falsely blamed and that real history is respected.

Let us honor the child in this photograph by standing for truth, dignity, and unity.

Because our people deserve healing, not hatred.
