This week, we are delighted to host a delegation from the Stop TB Partnership TB REACH. The team is conducting stakeholder engagements, site assessments, data validation and looking at gaining deeper insights into the implementation of our Integrated Service Delivery TB REACH – Vumbua Project.
The delegation, led by CHS leadership, met with the Principal Secretary The Ministry of Health, Ms. Mary Muthoni, and the NTLDKenya leadership. The PS expressed her appreciation for the continued support in improving respiratory health services in Kenya, while emphasizing the importance of early-stage government engagement to ensure seamless project support.
“I look forward to this year’s World TB Day celebrations,” noted the PS. “I am keen to ensure that our activities have a direct, measurable impact on our communities, especially the most vulnerable.”
During the briefing, Dr. Beatrice Kirubi (Stop TB Partnership) highlighted the project's potential for growth, stating that the best practices identified in the project could be scaled up both nationally and globally.
Our CEO, Dr. Paul Wekesa, emphasized a vital takeaway: “The Vumbua Project has proven that the integration of health services works. This is a cornerstone of the Primary Healthcare (PHC) agenda championed by the Kenyan government and the global health community.”
The CHS Vumbua PROJECT is Funded by Stop TB Partnership-TB REACH. This project provides a sustainable, people-centered integrated service delivery model in Thika and Limuru (Kiambu County). By screening for TB, respiratory diseases, malnutrition, and mental health at the first point of contact, we are accelerating early detection and improving lives by providing holistic care.
Together, we are transforming primary healthcare.
