We are proud to announce that Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi has achieved its fifth successive Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, reaffirming our position as a regional leader in quality, safety, and patient-centred care.
With a score of 98.4%, this milestone places us among a select group of hospitals globally recognised for outstanding clinical performance and reliability. As the first hospital in East Africa to attain JCI accreditation in 2013, we continue to benchmark against the world’s best to deliver care that meets global standards.

“This accreditation is not simply a certificate on the wall. It defines our way of life and guides the way we provide care, review patient outcomes, update our processes, and implement continuous improvement plans,” Mr Khalani, CEO

The hospital was assessed against 268 standards and nearly 1,200 measurable elements, ranging from patient safety, clinical standards, facility safety, patient experience, emergency preparedness, leadership, among others.
