Today, we wrapped up our 4-week Youth Advocacy Forum with incredible young people from Kibera! 🎉✨

From learning about consent and bodily autonomy, to mapping accessible SRHR services, designing powerful advocacy messages, and finally presenting their Youth Advocacy Charter to duty bearers, these young leaders showed courage, brilliance, and unstoppable energy.

They held honest conversations with caregivers, community leaders, and health workers, pushing for real commitments to make SRHR services more youth-friendly and disability-inclusive in Kibera.

We would like to thank 100% for Børnene and CISU - Civilsamfund i Udvikling for their partnsrship.

Their voices were heard. Their ideas were powerful. Their advocacy journey has just begun. 💪🏾🔥

Our Youth Ambassadors took over the airwaves this morning on Kibera’s Pamoja FM! 🎙️

They spoke powerfully about disability, sexuality, and the right of every young person to access accurate, inclusive SRHR information.

From breaking stigma to championing accessibility, their voices are shifting narratives in Kibera and beyond. ✨

This conversation was made possible through our partnership with 100% for Børnene and CISU - Civilsamfund i Udvikling who continue to support youth-led advocacy and inclusion.

We are proud of these young leaders for using their platforms to educate, empower, and normalize conversations that too often remain silent.

Every Body, Every Right.

Our Story

APDK is charitable NGO in Kenya established in 1958 to improve the life of Persons with Disabilities through strengthening rehabilitation services, empowering and promoting inclusion of persons with disabilities(pwd).

Our Vision as APDK is to promote an inclusive society where persons with disabilities have equal rights and have access to rehabilitation services.

APDK services are modeled through 3-tier service provision; outreach plus, community based rehabilitation and institutionalized rehabilitation. Our services include Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Club Foot Management, Surgical Invention, promoting inclusion of pwd for employment in the private sector.

Through the Orthopedic Technology we fabricate crutches, calipers, surgical boots, inner soles, appropriate wheelchairs, tricycles and special seating; wheelchair services are aligned to the WHO Guidelines.
