🌟 How I Handle Staff Replacement as a Salon Owner 🌟

This year, I’ve had to replace several team members at Elixir Executive Barbershop, Salon & Spa — some left on their own, some were let go for underperformance or discipline issues, and a few were even poached. It’s never easy, but it’s a normal part of running a growing salon.

Here’s what this year has taught me:

💛 1. Team changes are normal
Not everyone will match your work ethic or vision — and that’s okay.

💛 2. Systems matter more than individuals
Strong policies, onboarding, training, and clear expectations make every transition smoother.

💛 3. Letting go is sometimes necessary
Holding on to the wrong person slows down progress more than replacing them.

💛 4. Replace quickly, train patiently
Keep the business running, but invest time in guiding new staff the right way.

💛 5. Protect your culture
Hire people who respect your clients, your brand, and your standards. Skills can be taught — attitude cannot.

💛 6. Every exit teaches you something
Each challenge improves your leadership, hiring decisions, and systems.

Through all the changes, one thing remains clear: with consistency, strong leadership, and clear standards, the salon always moves forward.
