T4H - Trees For Health

T4H - Trees For Health AAR "Trees for Health" project is based on the notion that the health of the environment directly impacts on the health of children (and adults).

Therefore steps taken to improve children's health are combined and intricately associated with taking action towards creating a healthier environment.

World Health Day is being marked on 7 April under the theme “Our Planet. Our Health.” WHO is calling on governments to, focus their attention on urgent actions needed to keep humans and the planet healthy.
Join us on Saturday 9th 2022 at 10.00 at the Destiny Church life church as we play our role in keeping the planet healthy by planting trees. Trees greatly benefit the people living around them by having a positive impact on mental health and wellbeing, reducing stress and encouraging outdoor exercise. This is in addition to the benefits they will receive from an improved environmental quality and improved amenity which comes with planted areas.

Global Handwashing Day is celebrated every 15 October, because handwashing is one of the most important ways to prevent disease and save lives.

The theme this year is “Our Future is at Hand – Let’s Move Forward Together” recognizing the global movement promoting handwashing as a key way to prevent COVID-19 transmission, and the need to keep building on this momentum even after the pandemic.
Today as we celebrate Global Handwashing Day, lets encourage everyone to intensify strategies to increase access to safe water and sanitation, as indeed handwashing with water and soap is among the most cost-effective interventions for reducing the transmission of diseases. Remember "each second, save lives – wash your hands" to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other diseases.

Through our CSI Program, thousands of Kenya's children are dewormed yearly. The benefits of deworming have been proven through rigorous research that demonstrates that deworming increases participation of children in school by reducing absenteeism by up to 25% and improving their concentration in class. Our target this month is to deworming all the vulnerable schools in Makadara Sub-county.
