Last week, our Programs and Strategy Lead, had the pleasure of serving as one of the Trainer of Trainers (ToT) for the Government’s National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) Program — a powerful initiative equipping young people to step boldly into entrepreneurship.

Together with other ToTs, they took the beneficiaries through the Business Development Service (BDS) training, designed to give them the skills and confidence to start, manage, and grow successful businesses.

Some of the key lessons included:
✨ Building resilience in business
✨ Strengthening teamwork and communication
✨ Understanding business registration & compliance in Kenya
✨ Proper record keeping for transparency and growth
✨ Developing a strong value proposition
✨ Costing, pricing & financial discipline
✨ Innovation, creativity and identifying market gaps

It was inspiring to watch young entrepreneurs connect, challenge themselves, and dare to dream bigger. Programs like NYOTA are shaping a bold, enterprising generation that is ready to transform communities. 🙌

We are honoured to contribute to this course for this what we believe in! Daring With Brilliance!

On 12th October 2025, we had an opportunity to celebrate with our brilliant Form 3 girls and our discussion focused on the long holiday. We reminded them that leadership starts with responsibility — how they manage their time, choices, and goals. The holiday is a chance to:
✨ Invest in themselves through reading, skill-building, and self-care.
✨ Be role models in their families and communities.
✨ Guard their dreams by staying disciplined, focused, and confident.
✨ Speak up for what’s right and support other girls’ growth.

We cant wait to meet these brilliant and Bold girls in 2026 as we officially begin the candidate journey.

Grateful to the school administration through the Chief Principal for believing in our mentorship program.

✨ Celebrating the International Day of the Girl Child with the incredible Form 2 girls from one of the schools in our programs— It was a day filled with courage, confidence, and inspiration! Today, we celebrate the strength, brilliance, and resilience of every girl — especially those who rise and lead in the face of crisis. This year’s theme — “The girl I am, the change I lead: Girls on the frontlines of crisis” — reminds us that girls are not merely passive victims of crisis, but active changemakers in their communities and in the world.

Around the world, girls are standing at the frontlines of change — in classrooms, communities, and crisis zones. They are raising their voices for education, wellness, leadership, career and equality. They are not just survivors; they are solution makers.

At Do It With Boldness Foundation (DWB), we believe in nurturing this power — by building girls’ confidence, supporting their education and mental wellness, and creating safe spaces where they can dream boldly and lead fearlessly.

As we mark this day, we reaffirm our commitment to:
- Amplify girls’ voices, especially in times of crisis.
- Empower them through mentorship, education, and leadership programs.
- Promote emotional and mental wellness for every girl.
- Partner with families, schools, and communities to protect girls’ rights and dignity.

To every girl — you are powerful, your story matters, and your leadership is changing the world. Let’s keep walking boldly, hand in hand, toward a future where every girl thrives and leads without limits.

Today, we join the world in marking — a day to reflect, raise awareness, and take action for better mental health for all.

At Do It With Boldness (DWB) Foundation, we believe that mental wellness is the foundation of growth, learning, and leadership. Over the years, we’ve been at the forefront of promoting emotional well-being among students, teachers, and school communities through our diverse programs and partnerships.

Our Impact So Far:

- Strengthening Guidance & Counselling Departments across more than 500 schools to ensure learners receive structured psychosocial support.
- Teachers’ Wellness Programs that help educators manage stress, avoid burnout, and nurture healthy classroom environments.
- Students’ Wellness Sessions that equip young people with resilience, life skills, and emotional intelligence to face life’s challenges.
- Emotional First-Aid & Crisis Response — offering psychosocial support after traumatic events and fostering healing in schools and communities.
- Wellness Without Limits Initiative, THE MOMENT, and other projects that continue to build a culture of openness, empathy, and mental strength.

The Global Picture:

- According to the World Health Organization (WHO), over 1 in every 7 adolescents worldwide experiences a mental health condition.
- In Africa, more than 116 million people are living with mental health conditions — yet less than 10% receive adequate support.
- In Kenya, depression and anxiety remain among the leading causes of illness among youth aged 15–24 years, with su***de ranking as the third leading cause of death in this age group.

These are not just numbers — they are lives. They are our students, teachers, friends, and family.

At DWB Foundation, we envision a future where no young person suffers in silence. But this can only happen if we act together — parents, teachers, mental health professionals, policymakers, and organizations.

Join us in the journey to achieve among young people.
Collaborate with us to:

- Build resilient and emotionally healthy schools.
- Train teachers and peer counsellors
- Support our psychosocial outreach programs
- Fund mental wellness projects in your community

Together, we can make mental health a daily priority, not just a once-a-year conversation.

𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐚 𝐃𝐚𝐲!

Today, we join all Kenyans to celebrate our beautiful planet and reaffirm our commitment to sustainable environmental stewardship. This year, our focus is on fruit cultivation — a simple yet powerful act that nourishes both people and the planet.

At DWB Foundation, we believe that every seed planted is a seed of hope, growth, and resilience. Through our ongoing Wellness Program, we aim to promote Environmental Wellness by:
- Promote eco-friendly communities through tree planting and care.
- Encourage schools and households to plant fruit trees for nutrition and income generation.

Together, we can make our environment thrive — one fruit tree at a time!

Today, as the world pauses to celebrate World Teachers’ Day, we at DWB Foundation join millions around the globe in saluting the men and women who shape minds, nurture dreams, and build futures through their unwavering commitment to education.

This year’s theme — “Recasting Teaching as a Collaborative Profession” — reminds us that teaching is not a solitary act but a shared mission. It is about teachers learning from one another, growing together, and creating communities of practice that inspire both educators and learners alike.

To all the teachers we have worked with under the DWB Foundation programs, we celebrate you in a special way. You have demonstrated that when teachers unite, innovation thrives, classrooms transform, and students blossom. Your openness to mentorship, teamwork, and continuous learning has been the heartbeat of our initiatives.

As a Foundation, we reaffirm our commitment to enhancing teachers’ wellness and professional development. We believe that a supported teacher is an empowered teacher — one who can continue to light the path for generations to come.

To every teacher: thank you for your resilience, creativity, and selfless service. You are the true architects of our collective future.

Happy World Teachers’ Day!
From all of us at DWB Foundation — Celebrating Teachers, Empowering Change.

Wellness comprises of eight mutually co-dependent dimensions. If any one of these dimensions is neglected over time, it will adversely affect one's health, well-being and quality of life. A well-rounded balance of these wellness dimensions provides holistic harmony to one's personal well-being.

Just like a balanced diet is needed for healthy nutrition, balanced wellness engages the body, mind, and nurtures the spirit. Each dimension is important in creating an environment that nurtures and builds a healthy lifestyle.

Let's strive to balance these dimensions. Blessed Week.

On 6th September 2025, we trained and empowered the newly elected student leaders of Friends Keveye Girls’ National School during their 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 session.

Together, we explored the 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩, which are critical for student leadership. We reminded the young leaders that leadership is not about privilege, but about responsibility, humility, and the courage to influence positively.

We celebrate these polished leaders who are now better equipped to serve their school community with diligence, vision, and grace.

A heartfelt 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 to the Chief Principal, Dr. Violet Opala, and the entire administration for trusting us with this important mandate. Partnerships like this nurture leaders who will impact not only their schools but also the wider society.

Every great dream begins with a vision, but it takes a team to transform that vision into action. When we come together, we share ideas, strengths, and energy. Teamwork multiplies what one person can do alone. It turns challenges into opportunities, obstacles into stepping stones, and dreams into reality.

Let’s keep building, supporting, and lifting each other because the true magic of success lies not in “I” but in “WE.” This has been a great team.

The Do It With Boldness Foundation coordinated and executed a transformative Career Exploration Fair at Migingo Girls’ High School on Tuesday, 29th July 2025, where curiosity met clarity and ambition found a path.

With a vibrant lineup of institutions of higher learning and resource persons, the students had the opportunity to engage deeply on matters of career choice, higher education pathways, and life after high school.

Our Chief Guest, Dr. Lydia Maingi, the Chairperson of Psychology Department at Kenyatta University delivered a transformative keynote address on Navigating Career with Purpose.

Our sessions focused on: Understanding career alignment and purpose, KUCCPS placement insights, Exploring diverse options in TVETs, universities, and professional certifications, and Real stories from industry professionals

We recognize our esteemed partner institutions that joined us for this career day and gave real-time information and practical experiences, which are critical for the students as they discover and decide on their career pathways. They included: Kenyatta University (KU), Mount Kenya University (MKU), Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST), Umma University, KASNEB and Nairobi Aviation College.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the school leadership, particularly the Senior Principal for her exemplary leadership. We also extend this appreciation to the Careers Department for their meticulous coordination, and to every student who showed up eager to learn, ask, and dream. Your hunger for knowledge was unmatched!

At DWB Foundation, we are committed to shaping futures, nurturing boldness, and walking alongside the next generation as they carve out their paths with confidence and clarity.
