For 60 years, the Kenya Red Cross has been at the forefront of service to humanity. As part of the 60-year anniversary, a major multi-stakeholder simulation was conducted to strengthen Kenya's emergency response. This exercise tested multi-agency coordination, incident command, and hospital surge capacity during a mass casualty incident.
As the Kenya Red Cross Training Institute, our core mission is to build the human capacity that makes these coordinated responses possible. Our students and instructors were actively involved in this simulation, applying the very skills we teach every day.
How KRCTI is helping achieve this national goal:
• We train the paramedics, EMTs, and disaster managers who form the backbone of the medical response.
• Our curriculum is built on the same Incident Command System and protocols tested in this exercise.
• We provide continuous professional training for responders from various agencies to ensure a unified language and approach during crises.
• Our simulations on campus create the competent, confident personnel needed for real-world events like this.
The future of emergency response relies on seamless coordination. At KRCTI, we are proud to train the teams that make it happen.
