Safe Haven Spaces is on the forefront of advocating for inclusive work places
This is the reason we started the Safe Haven UpSkilling Hub where we train young people with disabilities on economic empowerment skills.

We are soon starting our second cohort. We have seen such a great Impact on the empowerment sessions we've had.

Rebecca , Ann and Maria are our trainees who are Deaf and they serve their clients the best they can.

Based on Nakuru, let's keep supporting them and have our nails done.

I have never rode a bicycle in my life, I don't know how to, thank you Inclusive Cycling International and Greg Milano for this amazing bike. Safe Haven. Will take care of it and make use of it for the right work. Brian Muchiri Waihenya today was awesome,we should do this often.
People with disabilities should feel included in all fun activities. Today I sleep a happy soul 😊😁

EXCITING NEWS: Bold Impact Africa and Safe Haven. were awarded the winner of the 2024 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF) at a ceremony held at the U.S. Embassy Nairobi on 5th September 2024. Impact Africa in the leadership of Nyaga Wa Wanjiru and Safe Haven Spaces will implement the project "Promoting Inclusive Farmer Livelihoods through the Adoption of Climate-Smart Agricultural Practices and Technologies in Potato Production" in Njoro, Nakuru County. The project will address the adverse effects of climate-induced challenges such as droughts, floods, and heatwaves, which have increasingly disrupted food production and livelihoods for smallholder farmers. The project will focus on building resilience and adapting to climate change through climate-smart practices like water retention technologies and drought-resistant crop varieties to ensure stable crop yields, reduced environmental impact, and increased farmer incomes.

The project will directly benefit smallholder farmers in Nakuru by promoting sustainable agricultural methods and technologies. The project emphasizes inclusivity, particularly the involvement of farmers with disabilities, who are often marginalized in climate-resilience initiatives.
The AEIF award is also in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders where Simon and I are alumni of the program of the 2021 cohort.

We deeply appreciate the U.S. Department of State through the U.S. Embassy Nairobi for this great opportunity to drive change by addressing the challenges faced by the often marginalized disability community in Kenya
