This is when one is providing care for young children, the elderly, convalescents, etc. in the home of the person being cared for. ... by health care providers.

Importance of nutrition during home based care.
1.Aid in Preventing Malnourishment
2.Keep one Interested in Food if able to feed orally
3.Stay hydrated.
4. important in supporting cellular function throughout the body, strengthening the immune system, and warding off physical and mental illness at every age.

Adults age 65 and older, people with chronic conditions of various ages, and those recently discharged, from a hospital or nursing facility are likely to be nutritionally at-risk. Aging, bed rest, illness, and injury can all contribute to the loss of lean body mass.

Children need proper nutrients stay healthy and strong, and grow up healthy and strong. Nutrition for children can also help establish a foundation for healthy eating habits and nutritional knowledge that your child can apply throughout thought life

We provide care in nutrition depending on medical history,current medical issue ,which involves the mode of feeding we are to use.
One needs a a variety of different foods to provide the right amounts if nutrients for good health.

All this can be done based on an individual and mode if feeding.
Mode of feeding are soo many i.e
TPN (Total parenteral Nutrition)feeds given through veins if one cannot feed through the mouth and depending on nutritional needs.
Enteral feeds (meal plans made to fit the dietary requirements)
Various types of tube feeds.(depending on dietary requirements,where feeding tube is inserted nutritional needs).
