Mimi siwezi enda hospitali mapema nikapimwepimwe ndio hiyo cord imehang na hajui hatari yake.

One of the reasons we conduct vaginal examinations in labour is to diagnose this and intervene promptly.

If this happens, kanungo stops immediately and theatre takes over. This is not the time to bargain, give more time or wait for the spouse to come and sign. It is not the time to consult your religious leader or rebuke Satan.
It's the time to cooperate and do as exactly as instructed. Including assuming some weird positions. Under this circumstances, time is of assence

When her labour started, they said, “It’s still early.”

When she complained of headache and swelling, they said, “It’s normal in pregnancy.”💥

When the bleeding began, they said, “Let’s wait and see.”💥

They waited.😿

She didn’t survive.💔

This is how many maternal deaths happen —💯

quietly, at home, surrounded by people who cared but didn’t act fast enough.💫

Maternal mortality is not only a hospital problem.💭

It is a community problem.💬

The public saves lives when we do simple things:

💥Encourage women to attend clinic early

💥Take danger signs seriously

💥Help her reach a health facility immediately

💥Check on her emotionally, not just physicallyAnd men — your presence matters.

Your urgency, your decisions, your support can save a life.

Pregnancy is not a test of endurance.🗨

Waiting is not wisdom.💢

Silence is not care.💭

💥If you have ever insisted on a clinic visit,

💥 helped with transport,

💥checked on a new mother,

💥or spoken up when something felt wrong —

you are already part of the solution.💯

❤️Saving mothers doesn’t start in the hospital.
It starts with us.❤️

👉 What’s one thing we can do better as a community?

The HPV vaccine is typically recommended for:
- Girls and boys aged 11-12 years (can start as early as 9)

The vaccine is most effective when given before becoming exposed to the hpv

- Teens and young adults up to age 26 who haven't been vaccinated yet

*Update update update *....................................
Kenya has switched to a single-dose HPV vaccine schedule, which is expected to increase vaccine coverage and accelerate efforts to eliminate cervical cancer.

The Ministry of Health announced the change in October 2025, citing local data showing that one dose offers sufficient protection against the virus responsible for most cervical cancer cases ¹ ² ³.

The rollout of the single-dose vaccine is already underway, with the Ministry of Health planning to implement it nationwide
Director-General for Health Dr. Patrick Amoth stated that the change will enable the ministry to reach more girls, especially in underserved areas, and make it easier for families to complete the vaccination schedule ³

Ethical dilemma is real when you work in a hospital and live in the village where you grew up or where you constantly and openly interact with village-mates. I remember when I used to work in the hospital, particularly in the HIV/AIDS CCC, I saw a number of people from my village who were coming for the clinic but I had to "pretend" that I don't know them even when some tried to call me by my "village name". Then back in the village, I felt ethically conflicted when I saw a girl/woman that I know going with a man that has been "lectured" severally by the CCC nurses for HIV medication non-adherence. It's unethical and unprofessional to disclose someone's HIV status to third parties but at the same time you feel kinda guilty when you see someone you know (including friends, a family member) unknowingly almost getting into intimate relationship with an infected person who is not adhering to medication, nutrition, and lifestyle advice. for my village folks ensure kitu ya kwanza you 2 get tested, and for the "infected", take medications religiously and check of your nutrition and lifestyle and ultimately you won't transmit the virus to your partner. Kwa hayo yote, ethical dilemma is real.

This has reminded me I was to say something about a viciously spreading drug culture fever . The easy availability to drugs has turned people into something else. You feel a little viral homa, you run to the nearby chemist and you are given some heavy weight antibiotics. Imagine being treated for a viral infection with antibiotics.🙊 Now try see a baby in hospital and tell the mother to go back home the baby does not need medication. Wueh, you will have opened a can of worms. Next day you will find yourself trending on what a quack and incompetent you are. In this country you have to go back home with a gunia of drugs for you to feel treated.

It's all fine until you get sick and need the actual treatment and realise no medication is working for you , imagine you will go to sayun as people watch you, not because they never intervened, no, they will have given the last line of treatment, but since ulionjesha ugonjwa tudawa hapa na pale wakazoeana, dawa na ugonjwa will just be hugging in the body and next........

Did you know??

When you walk into hospital and give a blood sample, the test is not just done and released blindly.
Before your results reach the doctor, the laboratory first checks the machine to make sure it is accurate and consistent.
This process is called quality control (QC). External, internal and precision/accuracy testing

Here’s what it means for you as a patient:
1.Your results are reliable
2 If your haemoglobin, white cells or platelets are low or high, it’s because they truly are and not because a machine is faulty.
3 Your diagnosis and treatment are based on correct numbers.
4.Reduced chances of wrong medication or missed illness.

Sometimes the lab even repeats the same sample to confirm the machine gives the same result twice. If it doesn’t, your result is held,a CAPA form is filled and a process of fixing the problem initiated.

Next time you experience a delay in lab, please note, It’s not laziness.
or slow service. It’s patient safety!!!
I pride in being that professional making sure your life is not trusted to guesswork.

Community pharmacies Chronicles

Today let's talk about Dr google and online self diagnosis.
What are the dangers of online self diagnosis and self treatment?
Here are very important points to note;

Many diseases share similar symptoms. What looks like a simple headache, stomach pain, or cough online may be something completely different in real life.

Depending on the internet for self-diagnosis can lead to:

Wrong diagnosis
Delayed proper treatment
Unnecessary fear and anxiety
Self-medication and drug misuse
Antibiotic resistance
Worsening of serious conditions

Google does not know your medical history, age, pregnancy status, allergies, or medicines you are already taking.

Google pia haitakuambia uende lab for very crucial lab tests.

Use the internet to learn, not to treat yourself. Always consult a trusted medical professional before taking medication.
Your health deserves professional care, not guesses.

Disclaimer, mkikuja kwetu after self diagnosis, please don't test our knowledge, some of you are very stubborn yawa, hamwambiliki kabisaaa.

9 symptoms there is fibroid growing in your womb.
As a lady , do not ignore these symptoms. Go for a check up if you notice 3 of these symptoms.
SYMPTOMS OF FIBROIDS
One thing about fibroids is that they can be asymptomatic and the women involved may go about their activities without finding out.
Many women discover they have fibroids during a random gynecological visit for other conditions.
Common symptoms include ;
✍️Difficulty getting pregnant or repeated miscarriages
✍️Heavy periods with long cycle
✍️Severe pain during periods
✍️Pain during sëx
✍️Lower abdominal pain or pelvic pressure
✍️Frequent urination or urinary frequency
✍️Feeling full like you are pregnant but you are not
✍️Painful urination or difficulty emptying bladder.
✍️Blëëding between periods
If you are experiencing something like this, I advise you see a doctor for a check up.
I awareness is to take action not to put fear in you.
I hope this helpful?
