At the inaugural Outspan Global University Board of Trustees meeting held on 27th March 2026, leadership, vision, and purpose came together to shape the future of the institution.

The University Sponsor Representative, Dr. G.M. Kiruhi, warmly welcomed the Chair of the Board, Mr. Gachahi Gitahi, in a ceremonial handover, setting the tone for a new chapter of governance and growth.

We were honored to host a NACOSTI-led assessment visit for the proposed Outspan Institutional Scientific and Ethics Review Committee, led by Ms. Charity Musembi, Principal Scientist at the National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation.

The Outspan team, under the leadership of Dr. Christine Murungi, Chairperson of the proposed committee, engaged in this important process aimed at establishing a robust ethical and scientific review framework.

In collaboration with Outspan Global University’s Directorate of Research and Innovation, this initiative marks a pivotal step toward strengthening our institutional research capacity across all disciplines.

Outspan Global University has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the County Government of Laikipia, marking a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening collaboration between public and private healthcare stakeholders.

This partnership is anchored on a shared vision: building healthier, more resilient communities through accessible, people-centered, and compassionate care.

H.E. Hon. Joshua Irungu, EGH, underscored the importance of quality healthcare in ensuring dignity for all, while Chairman Outspan Global Company Ltd, Director Dr. G.M. Kiruhi highlighted the opportunities this collaboration creates, both in enhancing service delivery and providing students with hands-on clinical placements within county facilities.

The CEC for Health, Dr. Albert Wagurah Taiti, emphasized the MoU’s role in advancing timely, collaborative research, particularly in tackling Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) affecting the Mt. Kenya region.

Vice Chancellor Prof. P. M. Mungai reaffirmed the University’s commitment to experiential learning and impactful research that strengthens both preventive and curative healthcare approaches.

The signing was witnessed by Dr. Lydia Muthoni, DVC Student Affairs & Research, Mr. Silas Muguongo, Board of Trustees Representative, and Mr. Muhoro, Administrative Officer, Outspan Hospital Nanyuki Branch.

Today, H.E. Mwalimu Mutahi Kahiga, EGH, Governor of Nyeri County, presided over the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Outspan Global University, opening the doors for our students to undertake clinical placements and hands-on training across county health facilities.
