I remember those days when we used to put on like this. Not because we wanted but because it was the only available cloth.
On addition to this kind of short, my feet had been attacked by some white things with a black mouth and used to saliva water when they want to work on you. My grandma was too old to work on them because they required people who had good eyes. Many times, the female teachers, Helen, Beatrice and Suzan, let them RIP could deal with them circumfoniously
When I joined Form 1, in one of the National School within Nairobi, the Principal Mr. Odhiambo (RIP) told me to use slippers or rubbers until those things will know that a National School is not a place for them. As sure as to his words, after two weeks, I was in my new black shoes and grey socks with blue and white strips at the knee top on a grey trouser and yellow tetron shirt covered in a Pink jersey.
