🤕 Did you know that headaches are one of the most common brain disorders?

Globally, over 3 billion people suffer from recurring headaches like:

🔹 Migraines
🔹 Tension headaches
🔹 Cluster headaches

These can disrupt work, school, and daily life, causing missed activities and emotional stress.

⚠️ Many people remain undiagnosed or untreated because headaches are often misunderstood or seen as minor.

💡 But proper treatment—like medication, lifestyle changes, and understanding triggers—can make a big difference.

*Simple steps can help manage symptoms:*

🚰 Staying hydrated
😴 Maintaining a regular sleep schedule
🚫 Avoiding alcohol
📖 Using a headache diary

WHO is working to improve awareness, diagnosis, and access to effective care worldwide.

💙🧠 If you or someone you know suffers from frequent headaches, seek help—relief is possible, and no one should suffer in silence.

👨🏻 Men’s health often receives less targeted attention, despite consistently worse outcomes across many countries.

❤️‍🩹 Men face higher risks of premature death and disability from preventable diseases and injuries, many of which are avoidable.

*Key concerns:*

🔹 Men are more likely to die early from noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.

🔹 Men’s life expectancy is shorter than women’s in nearly every country.

🔹 Men have higher rates of smoking, unhealthy diets, alcohol use, injuries, and interpersonal violence.

🔹 Men visit doctors less often and report more unmet health-care needs.

*Take charge of your health:*

🩺 Get regular check-ups, early detection saves lives.
🚭 Quit to***co and limit alcohol use.
🏃 Stay active and maintain a balanced diet.
🧠 Talk about mental health and seek support when needed.

Good health starts with small steps, take yours this month.

🦠 Did you know there's a tapeworm called Taenia solium that can cause serious health problems?

🚨 While the worm itself lives harmlessly in your gut, if eggs from contaminated food or poor hygiene enter your body, they can travel to your brain and cause seizures or epilepsy — a condition called neurocysticercosis.

🌍 This disease affects millions worldwide—estimates suggest 2.5 to 8 million people suffer from it, and it’s preventable!

*The main ways to stay safe?*

✅ Wash your hands thoroughly, especially after using the bathroom.

✅ Wash vegetables and cook pork thoroughly.

✅ Avoid using untreated human manure in farming.

✅ Educate yourself and others about transmission.

🐷 Breaking the cycle also involves vaccinating pigs and improving farming practices—part of a “One Health” approach that protects humans, animals, and the environment.

💪 Stay safe, practice good hygiene, and always follow the science.

🧠Did you know? Over 40% of the world’s population—more than 3 billion people—live with neurological disorders like:

🔹 Stroke
🔹 Migraines
🔹 Dementia
🔹 Epilepsy

🌎 Yet, less than 1 in 3 countries has a national plan to address this growing issue.

🚨 Many low-income countries have 80 times fewer neurologists than wealthier nations, making diagnosis and care difficult for millions.

⚠️ Weak health systems, lack of funding, and stigma mean essential services like stroke units and rehabilitation are often unavailable, especially in rural areas.

*WHO urges governments to prioritize brain health by investing in:*

🔹 Public policies
🔹 Expanding access to care
🔹 Strengthening data systems

💪🏽 Together, we can work to reduce inequalities, improve quality of life, and protect our brain health at every stage of life. Let’s act now!

For millennia, treatments for pain have been administered with a one-size-fits-all approach. It wasn’t until recently that experts officially acknowledged one radical truth: Women experience pain differently than men. They’re also more likely to experience chronic pain conditions and don’t respond as well to painkillers like ibuprofen, steroids, and opioids.

So how can women find relief? Learn more about why women experience pain differently—as well as evolving approaches to treatment—at: https://on.natgeo.com/3KVALyU

🌍 Rabies remains a serious public health problem in more than 150 countries and territories.

⚠️ Every year, an estimated 59,000 people die from the disease, most of them are children living in Asia and Africa.

*Key concerns:*

🏥 Rabies is fatal in 100% of cases once symptoms appear.

🐕 99% of human rabies cases are caused by dog bites and scratches.

🧒 40% of rabies deaths occur in children under 15 years old.

💡 Yet rabies is preventable through dog vaccination and timely post-exposure treatment in humans.

*If someone is bitten or scratched by a suspected rabid animal, here’s what to do:*

💧 Wash the wound immediately with soap and water for at least 15 minutes.

💉 Get a full course of rabies vaccine as soon as possible.

🛡️ Receive rabies immunoglobulins (RIG) if recommended by a health professional.

Rabies is preventable. With awareness and quick action, we can save lives.

Humidity disrupts natural cooling and increases risk of skin problems, fatigue, and heart strain

That heavy, sticky air on humid days isn’t just uncomfortable—it’s your body fighting to cool down and losing. When there’s too much moisture in the air, your sweat can’t evaporate properly, which means your natural cooling system stalls. As a result, your body stays hotter for longer, your heart works harder, and you tire out faster—even if you’re barely moving.

On high-humidity days, you can get dehydrated without noticing, because the sweat just clings to your skin instead of drying. This also flushes out electrolytes like sodium and potassium, which can trigger cramps, dizziness, and fatigue. The dampness is rough on your skin too—trapping bacteria and dirt, which leads to rashes, breakouts, and body odor. At night, cooling down enough to sleep becomes nearly impossible, leaving you sweaty, restless, and mentally foggy the next day.

Humidity may be invisible, but it’s far from harmless. On days like these, staying cool isn’t about comfort—it’s about protecting your health.

👵🏼👴🏾 For the first time in history, most people can expect to live into their 60s and beyond.

*Longer life offers new opportunities. More time for:*

🔹 Hobbies
🔹 Learning
🔹 Contributing to society

💡 But good health is key to making the most of these extra years.

📈 By 2050, the global population of people over 60 will jump from 900 million to 2 billion.

⏰ Ageing happens faster now, so adapting health systems quickly is crucial.

*Many older adults face challenges like:*

🔹 Heart disease
🔹 Strokes
🔹 Chronic lung issues

But health isn't just about not being sick — it’s about staying active, independent, and involved.

⚠️ Ageism and unequal access to care threaten older people’s wellbeing.

🎉 Ageing well is possible for everyone—with supportive policies, age-friendly environments, and respectful, person-centered care.

Let’s invest in healthy ageing and value the contributions of our older generations.
