As we step into this new year, we do so with steadier hearts and trust in what grows when people stay connected. Thank you for being part of this journey. 🕊️

Satsang means coming together in truth. In simple words, Satsang is when people gather to sit, listen, chant, or reflect together with a shared intention of peace, kindness, and awareness.
You do not need to know how to sing or chant. You do not need any experience with yoga or meditation. You can sit quietly, listen, or simply be present.
Traditionally, Satsang is a space where we remember what really matters: connection, compassion, and care for one another. It helps calm the mind, open the heart, and remind us that we are not alone.
In times of uncertainty or difficulty, Satsang becomes a gentle way to support ourselves and each other, through presence rather than words.
💌👉🏽Come as you are. Being here is enough. See you this evening, 5:30 PM at AZAHAR Cambodia 🕊️

Pratyāhāra, the fifth limb of Patanjali’s eight limbs, is commonly described as ‘withdrawal’—to be able to withdraw your mind and senses from the external world. For many this has been interpreted as avoiding, ignoring or denying the senses. This interpretation has contributed to viewing the world in a negative way, as if it was the enemy of spirituality. I think this perspective has limited our consciousness, isolated us from nature, inhibiting spiritual evolution by reinforcing the schism that divides the world into good and bad and separates us from nature. Pratyāhāra, at least from a bhakti yoga perspective, is more inclusive than exclusive. “Bhakti loves senses,” as Shyamdas would say. So, what is pratyāhāra, and how do we practice it and what does it have to do with Yoga—with God realization, and healing our disconnection from nature?

We’re heading back to the desert, where silence speaks, hearts open, and healing begins.

From October 5-11, 2026, we invite you to a six-day retreat in the serene surroundings of La Palmeraie Polo Club. Guided by Yogeswari and Jutta Ariane Mele-Maurer, we’ll move, meditate, and immerse ourselves in the rhythms of Jivamukti Yoga, Moroccan culture, and deep presence.

This is more than a retreat. It’s a return, to self, to stillness, to something sacred.

🕊️ Save the dates.

Our Story

Azahar Yoga and Arts Studio is supported by Azahar Foundation. AZAHAR Foundation is an international not-for-profit organization that promotes peace building and cross-cultural communication through Yoga and the Arts supported by non-violent communication, youth-leadership, and other related methodologies. Current projects are in Cambodia, Rwanda and Ivory Coast. AZAHAR means orange blossom. It is a Spanish word with an Arabic root and is symbolic of the cross-cultural juxtapositions that color and flavor our beautiful planet. Being the first and last letter of the Roman alphabet, the A&Z symbolize the beginning and the end, the all-encompassing, the point and the zero. A blossom is a sign of new beginnings, and it indicates a new level of consciousness where humanity is able to live in peace and harmony. Within any population we teach, young leaders are identified and supported with professional training to become positive models of change within their communities. Through the conflict resolution and peace-building techniques of Yoga and the Arts, the escalating cycle of violence in conflict and post-conflict settings can be broken and recovery and rehabilitation can begin. Based on the pilot project in Cambodia, AZAHAR Foundation’s objective is to create satellite projects in several countries, with the aim of implementing international peace camps and conferences in professional yoga, dance, and music training, where young leaders are given opportunities to compare cultural experiences and to collaborate creatively with young people from around the world. The international conferences will culminate in artistic performances and touring projects that will serve to give young people a voice to raise awareness of the richness of cultural diversity and of humanitarian issues around the globe. HOW YOU CAN HELP AZAHAR Foundation is a not-for- profit 501(c)(3) organization. You can help support our mission on a number of levels. With secure online payments via PayPal and Credit Card, you can enter your contribution. Your donation allows us to apply your gift where it is most needed.
