Lolei Temple
Lolei Temple consists of four surviving brick tower sanctuaries, remnants of a once more extensive complex. The temple was consecrated in 893 AD by King Yasovarman I in honor of his ancestors, especially his father, King Indravarman I. Built on a two-tiered island, Lolei stands within the Indratataka Baray, a vast reservoir measuring approximately 3,800 by 800 meters, constructed by Indravarman shortly after his coronation.
Khmer inscriptions carved on the door jambs are remarkable for both their refined calligraphy and the detailed historical records they provide, including information on the temple’s consecration and the organization of its many attendants. The name “Lolei” derives from a local phonetic evolution of Hariharalaya, the early Angkorian capital at Roluos. Symbolically, Lolei’s placement at the center of Indratataka reflects Yasovarman’s intention to honor his father by situating the memorial temple at the heart of Indravarman’s greatest hydraulic achievement.

Prei Monti Temple
Prei Monti is a cluster of three brick towers located approximately 2 km south of the Bakong temple-pyramid in the Roluos area. The site is believed to have formed part of Hariharalaya, the earliest capital of the Khmer Empire.
For an experience that seamlessly blends luxury, tranquility, and genuine Khmer hospitality. A place where comfort and lying in delivering more than accommodation.
Chau Srei Vibol dates to the late 11th century and is located approximately 17 kilometers east of Angkor Wat. The temple is distinguished by its vast moats—measuring about 1,450 meters east to west and 970 meters north to south—making them the largest after Angkor Wat’s. Within the moat stands a laterite enclosure wall added in a later period. Though now largely in ruins, the temple rests atop a small hill, requiring a short and gentle climb to reach.

Angkor Thom
Following his coronation in 1182 AD, King Jayavarman VII established Angkor Thom as the fortified capital of the Khmer Empire. Enclosed by 12-kilometer laterite walls and a vast moat, the square city was entered through five monumental gates crowned with four-faced towers and adorned with images of Lokeshvara, naga balustrades, gods, and demons. Meaning “Great City,” Angkor Thom formed the political and spiritual heart of an empire that dominated mainland Southeast Asia from the late 12th to the 15th century. Modern archaeological research and LiDAR surveys reveal that this walled city was part of a far larger, highly sophisticated urban network—making Angkor the largest preindustrial settlement in the world.
