Papaya is a great source of potassium (64% more than bananas per calorie), vitamin C (16 times more than bananas per calorie), vitamin E (16 times more than bananas per calorie), beta carotene (24 times more than bananas per calorie), digestive enzymes, beta cryptoxanthin (7 times more than oranges - bananas and tomatoes don't have this carotenoid at all, 10 times more beta cryptoxanthin (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptoxanthin) than watermelon), folate (4 times more than bananas per calorie, 12 times more than watermelon), Calcium (11 times more than bananas per calorie).

Topical Papaya is great for skin and burns too ► http://www.burnsjournal.com/article/S0305-4179(99)00056-X/abstract -- Burns Journal, November 1999, Volume 25, Issue 7, Pages 636–639
Papaya carotenoids prevent prostate cancer ► https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/14973107?dopt=Abstract - Cancer Epidemiol Biomarkers Prev. 2004 Feb;13(2):260-9.
Beta cryptoxanthin is an anti-oxidant (a form of provitamin A) that prevents free radical damage to cells and DNA. It was also found to prevent the proliferation of lung and other types of cancer cells ► http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ijc.22111/abstract ► International Journal of Cancer, Volume 119, Issue 9, 1 November 2006 , Pages 2084–2089
Beta carotene, C40H56, in papaya is present in the same amount as in watermelon and it protects the eye sight, as does beta cryptoxanthin - another form of pro-vitamin A.
Papaya is the only common fruit or veggie with an omega 3 to omega 6 ratio of 4:1, most fruits have a much lower ratio of omega 3 to omega 6. Bananas have omega 3 to omega 6 of about 1:2. The more omega 3, the better, as most people get too much omega 6 and too little omega 3. Tomatoes omega 3 to omega 6 ratio is 1:27, watermelon has no omega 3, just omega 6.
Papaya seeds are very soft and easy to eat, but most people discard them. They have many benefits related to protein digestion, getting rid of bad bacteria, parasites, liver detox and digestion optimization, but they are not recommended for pregnant women, kids or men trying to conceive. ► https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/T5Pvq9waDoP. Some studies suggest pregnant women should avoid eating papaya too, just to be safe ► https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12144723. Large amounts of papaya seeds given to pregnant rats led to miscarriage ► https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12163882. Papaya seeds 50 mg/kg of body weight given orally to langur monkeys for 360 days led to zero s***m count after just 90 days. 5 months after the end of the 1 year program, they noticed the s***m parameters were all back to normal (but not everything), as explained at ► https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11907624 - Asian J Androl. 2002 Mar;4(1):17-26. Rabbits given papaya seeds in the same doses 50 mg/kg did not affect their s***m quality at all ► https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10080301. - Reprod Toxicol. 1999 Jan-Feb;13(1):59-66. Same zero effect at https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10720785 - J Ethnopharmacol. 2000 Apr;70(1):17-27, another rabbit study. Humans are closer to monkeys though. A significant decrease in s***m concentration was observed in a group of dogs treated with extracts from washed papaya seeds, but no decrease was observed in the group of dogs treated with non-washed seeds ► https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19650877 - Reprod Domest Anim. 2010 Dec;45(6):1126-9. Rats fertility returned to normal after 30 days of no longer eating papaya seeds - but there were some other changes too that took longer to reverse ► https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7997464. - Planta Med. 1994 Oct;60(5):400-4. In vitro (test tube, not a human body), papaya seeds do lower s***m count dramatically at even 2% concentration ► https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11232785. Given all these factors, males who want to conceive within 6 months should probably stay away from the seeds, unless they eat them less than 5 times or something, especially if they had problems with infertility before. :) It's hard to know though, since no studies have been done on humans.
On November 2nd 2016, my glucose was 85, two hours after eating some papaya, lemon, ginger and zukini smoothie. 85 is the best value I ever got after a meal. Papaya has a lot of fiber, 3 times more than watermelon in 100 grams, and i guess because of the fiber papaya doesn't spike blood sugar as watermelon does. But I had eaten watermelon and gotten really low values too, like 95. But usually watermelon in large quantities causes the glucose to go to 100 or 109, for me.
► VEGANISM ◄
For 100+ reasons I didn't eat meat for 21 years and dairy for 13 years (12% of millennials have already given up meat in America) see ► https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/2Z1fCnTHWbh. Going vegan is like planting 62 trees in your backyard, as far as CO2 emissions reduction.💜😊💜
