성소수자 개인이 경험하는 건강요구와 의료이용의 현실을 더 잘 이해하기 위한 질적연구가 참여자를 모집합니다.

이번 연구는 성인 LGBTQ+(레즈비언, 게이, 바이섹슈얼, 트랜스젠더, 퀴어) 당사자가 경험한
질병, 건강관리, 의료기관 이용 과정의 어려움과 아직 충족되지 않은 의료서비스 요구를
포커스 그룹 면담(FGI)을 통해 함께 나누는 연구입니다.

📌 연구 대상
• 본인을 LGBTQ+로 인식하는 성인
• 청·중장년(만 35–59세) 또는 노년(만 60세 이상)
• 한국 국적을 가진 분
• 온라인 화상회의(ZOOM) 참여 및 녹음·녹화 동의 가능자
※ 만 60세 이상은 대면/화상/전화 개별 면담 가능

📌 참여 방법
• 사전 질문지 작성 후, 연구 조건에 부합할 경우 개별 연락
• 닉네임으로 참여, 얼굴 노출 없이도 가능
• 비대면 그룹 면담 1회(약 90분)

Through online focus group interviews, this study listens to lived experiences around illness, healthcare access, and unmet medical needs — directly from LGBTQ+ community members.

• Ages 35–59 or 60+
• Korean nationality
• Able to join online interviews and consent to recording

이번 달, LGBTQ+센터에서는 의미 있는 배움의 이정표를 세웠습니다.
표영길 간호사님는 다양성훈련 퍼실리테이터 2급,
센터장 김결희교수님은 다양성훈련 퍼실리테이터 1급 자격을 취득했습니다.

이 훈련은 단순히 다양성을 이해하는 데서 그치지 않습니다.
의료 현장에서 어떤 언어를 선택하는지,
어떻게 듣고 응답하는지,
그리고 차별 없이 안전한 대화를 어떻게 설계할 것인지에 초점을 둔 과정입니다.

병원은 누군가에게 가장 취약해질 수 있는 공간이기에,
우리는 우연이 아니라 의도를 통해
차별이 발생하지 않도록 태도와 언어를 끊임없이 점검해야 한다고 믿습니다.

이번 배움은 한국다양성연구소와 함께했습니다.
자격증은 끝이 아니라 시작으로,
LGBTQ+센터는 의료 현장을 더 차별 없고 안전한 공간으로 만들어가겠습니다.

[ENG]Beyond knowing diversity—learning how to practice it in healthcare.

This month, our LGBTQ+ Center reached a meaningful milestone.
Nurse Younggil Pyo completed Level 2,
and Center Director Kuylhee Kim completed Level 1
of the Diversity Training Facilitator program.

This training goes beyond awareness.
It focuses on how we choose our words,
how we listen and respond,
and how we intentionally design safer, non-discriminatory conversations in medical settings.

Because hospitals can be the most vulnerable spaces for many,
we believe equity and safety must be intentional—not accidental.

This journey was made possible with the Korea Diversity Institute.

Certification is not the end, but the beginning.
We remain committed to building healthcare spaces that are safer and free from discrimination.

[ENG]How is military duty defined—and whose standards does it follow?

This February, [SmartQ] takes a grounded look at LGBTQ+ experiences around compulsory military service.

Under the theme “LGBTQ+ People In and Out of the Military,”
we’ll be joined by Hye-rin Bang, Defense Monitoring Team Lead at the Military Human Rights Center.

From the perspective of those directly affected, we’ll explore the realities faced by transgender women whose legal gender is male:
the physical examinations they encounter, and how requirements to prove gender-affirming medical interventions for military exemption impact their lives and self-determination.

Together, we’ll reflect on how military systems and norms shape lives far beyond the period of service—
and reconsider conscription through the lens of dignity and human rights.

목소리를 교정하기보다, 소리의 구조와 감각을 이해하며 각자의 정체성과 삶에 맞는 표현을 탐색하는 시간이었습니다.

참여자의 78%가 성소수자 당사자로, 스마트Q는 이번에도 당사자가 중심이 되는 배움의 공간이었습니다.

In January 2026, SmartQ explored “The Basics of Voice Expression,” focusing on understanding and respecting the voices of transgender and gender-diverse people.
Rather than fixing voices, we explored sound, sensation, and expressions that align with each person’s identity and life.

With 95 pre-registrations and a peak of 53 participants,
78% of attendees were LGBTQ+ community members, making this a truly community-centered space.
Alongside positive feedback, participants also shared thoughts on audio quality, language, and expression — voices we will continue to reflect on as SmartQ evolves.
