Reminder for submitting your scholarship application‼️
The NYU Steinhardt Nordoff-Robbins Center for Music Therapy acknowledges that the oppressive system has not been favorable to historically marginalized members of society (e.g., Black, Indigenous, Latinx, North African, Asian, Southwest Asian, Disabled, LGBTQIA2+). Our advanced certification has been financially inaccessible to many in the community. To begin to address this issue, we are offering scholarships as a form of reparation to music therapists from such communities.
Partial scholarships of $5,000 each will be offered to two individuals towards the tuition for Level I Certification. Candidates must be Board-Certified (MT-BC) and hold a master’s degree in music therapy. They are expected to complete the training in person in one year (full time) or in two years (part time). Level I Certification training begins at NYU in September 2022. If you are interested, please submit your application by Monday April 18th, 2022 using this Google Form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdsKnwaHTAQd5Rd2m7YXIRAXeLPbb0zdJnb9JNmlCbhZQf7ag/viewform
After submitting your application, you may be contacted for an interview.
In addition to the application, please send (1) your resume and (2) two excerpts (audio or video) showcasing your musicianship to alan.turry@nyu.edu. One excerpt must include playing a harmonic instrument. Examples of clinical work are also acceptable to showcase your clinical musicianship.
Please contact Dr. Alan Turry at alan.turry@nyu.edu if you have any questions. We look forward to hearing from you.
