Halloween is here β and so is the mountain of candy! π¬π
Before the sugar rush takes over, letβs talk about how to keep those smiles (and teeth!) healthy for both kids and adults. ~ Brandi Propas - Dietitian
π» Pace it out:
Instead of letting kids (or yourself!) snack on sweets all day, enjoy a few pieces after a meal. Eating candy with food helps minimize sugar exposure and supports better digestion and energy balance.
π§ Rinse after treats:
A quick rinse with water right after eating sweets helps wash away sugar and acids that stick to your teeth β an easy step that makes a big difference.
π How many treats?
A good guideline is 2β3 small treats at a time, paired with water or milk. Store the rest out of sight and enjoy in moderation over the next week.
π₯¦ Balance the sugar:
Add protein, fiber, and healthy fats (think nuts, cheese, yogurt, or veggies with hummus) to steady blood sugar and avoid that post-candy crash.
πͺ₯ Brush it off:
Brush twice daily β and after Halloween candy night, an extra brushing definitely wonβt hurt!
Halloween is meant to be fun β just remember, balance is key!
