🌪 𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗞𝗔𝗟𝗠𝗔𝗘𝗚𝗜 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴

📍This afternoon, the center of Typhoon KALMAEGI was located over the East Sea, about 120 km east-southeast of Quy Nhon, Viet Nam. The typhoon’s maximum sustained winds were 150–166 km/h, moving toward central Viet Nam at around 30 km/h.

🔜 In the next 6–24 hours: KALMAEGI is expected to continue moving toward central Viet Nam and making landfall between Quang Ngai and Dak Lak provinces, before gradually 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗟𝗼𝘄-𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗲𝗮 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱.

⛈ Laos is expected to experience isolated 𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐲 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥 from 16 to 18 July.

On 16 July, widespread rain will affect Phongsaly, Xayabouly, Xaysomboun, Vientiane, Khammouane, Savannakhet, and other central-southern provinces.

Rain will intensify on 17 July, reaching Luang Namtha, Bokeo, Oudomxay, Xayabouly, Luang Prabang, and some central provinces, including Vientiane and Bolikhamxay.

By 18 July, downpours will continue over parts of Saravanh, Attapeu, Champasack, and Sekong.

Residents in flood-prone areas are advised to stay alert for flash floods and rising river levels.
