Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) has evolved from a niche technology into a validated, evidence-based treatment for a wide range of musculoskeletal (MSK) disorders.
As a Clinical Applicator Specialist in ESWT, I have witnessed firsthand how properly indicated and correctly applied shockwave therapy can:
1-Stimulate tissue regeneration
2-Modulate chronic pain pathways
3-Improve function in tendinopathies, enthesopathies, myofascial and degenerative MSK conditions
4-Reduce reliance on medications and invasive procedures
It is a great pleasure to present at the Grand Round of the Family Medicine Department, Faculty of Medicine, American University of Beirut, highlighting when, why, and how ESWT should be integrated into modern MSK care.
Shockwave therapy is not about replacing conventional medicine, it is about enhancing outcomes through precision, physiology, and evidence-based application.
