S*x won't help you lose weight:

S*x might be good for our general health –– but it's not likely to help us lose weight.
A new study has found that six minutes of activity –– which a 1984 study found is the average length of in*******se –– only uses up about 14 more calories than six minutes watching TV.

Researchers from the University of Alabama in the US debunked the "s*x for weight loss myth" and dozens more health myths in their paper published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

Jarrod Meerkin, a spokesperson for Exercise and Sports Science Australia, told ninemsn the popular assumption that we burn 300 calories in s*x, is very inaccurate.

"Your heart rate doesn't really increase and when it does increase, it increases very rapidly and for a short period of time," he said.

"That's due to our bodies utilising the sympathetic nervous system. In exercise you get a sustained elevated heart rate for a long period of time and if you can knock over 500 or 600 calories an hour you are doing well. With an average of six minutes, the calorie expenditure is not that great."

The myth-busting study by Dr David Allison, who heads the Nutrition Obesity Research Centre at the University of Alabama, also found that setting bigger weight loss goals gets us better results than chunking it into small goals –– as is often advised by weight loss experts.

They also found people who yo-yo on crash diets tend to have the same amount of long-term weight loss as people who follow slower, more moderate diets.

Dr Allison told the New York Times that the bulk of studies into so-called "proven" weight loss strategies are flawed.

He said the best evidence of successful weight loss came from people who followed weight loss programs that provided meals, took prescription drugs or had weight loss surgery.

Erectile Dysfunction (ED) means that a man is unable to have a pe**le er****on of satisfactory firmness or duration for normal s*xual activity.
Many men are embarrassed to seek treatment, and some are not aware that impotence can be successfully treated in almost all cases.
Blood and urine tests are often needed to measure your hormone levels and to check for diabetes and prostate problems. Measurement of pe**le blood flow and nerves related to s*xual activity may also be ordered.
If the problem is psychological, counseling is often prescribed. S*x therapy or psychotherapy may be appropriate. If this doesn't work, or the patient does not wish s*x therapy or psychotherapy, other treatments are available with a high success rate.
At the present time, there are oral medications that are FDA approved for s*xual dysfunction.
Pe**le implants give the most rigid and reliable er****on. The genitalia look normal and most men and their partners are not aware of the implant. The implant gives an excellent, reliable er****on and the inflatable models give a natural-appearing p***s when inflated and deflated. The success rate of pe**le implantation is over 90%. The complication rate is low. For most men, this is an ambulatory procedure not requiring an overnight hospital stay. Most insurance carriers cover a pe**le implant for men with physical impotence.
Other possible options include pe**le vascular surgery and pe**le injection therapy.

Transurethral resection of the prostate: TURP

During transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP), an instrument is inserted up the urethra to remove the section of the prostate that is blocking urine flow.

TURP usually requires hospitalization and is done using a general or spinal anesthetic. The hospital stay after TURP is commonly 1 to 2 days.

Following surgery, a catheter is used to remove blood or blood clots in the bladder that may result from the procedure. When the urine is free of significant bleeding or blood clots, the catheter can be removed and you can go home.

Strenuous activity, constipation, and s*xual activity should be avoided for about 6 weeks. Symptoms such as frequent urination will continue for a while because of irritation and inflammation caused by the surgery. But they should ease during the first 6 weeks.
